The Chart Don't Lie

It's another week, and another chart to report. And while I wasn't able to post the chart positions last week, it doesn't really matter since it's pretty much looked the same the past month.

Yes, and it's another week at the top for Kanye West with "Gold Digger" - his 10th to be exact. "Gold Digger" is now the single with the second-longest run at the top in 2005, only trailing behind...

...good ol' Mariah Carey. You'll recall that Mimi straddled the top position with "We Belong Together," and rode the entire summer like it was a wild pony in need of a good thrashing! She's currently got 3 songs in the Top 30, what with "Shake It Off" at #9, "Don't Forget About Us" (available next week on the reissued version of her latest album) at #20 and "We Belong Together" hanging in there at #26.

Elsewhere, Madonna continues a slow fall with "Hung Up" after debuting high two weeks ago at #20. The progression of the single so far is 20-21-27, due most likely to lack of widespread airplay (though it's been in the Top 5 for downloads since the week it was released).

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Gold Digger" - Kanye West Ft. Jamie Foxx
2. "Run It!" - Chris Brown
3. "My Humps" - Blackeyed Peas
4. "Soul Survivor" - Young Jeezy Ft. Akon
5. "Photograph" - Nickelback
6. "We Be Burnin'" - Sean Paul
7. "Because Of You" - Kelly Clarkson
8. "I'm Sprung" - T-Pain
9. "Shake It Off" - Mariah Carey
10. "Sugar, We're Goin' Down'" - Fall Out Boy

Kanye West -- he's not fooling ANYBODY. And Mimi -- is that a man?
