Sorry, Westlife

Sneaky geeks Nizlopi (who?) have struck out of nowhere to steal away the #1 slot in England from the likes of Westlife and Robbie Williams.

"The JCB Song" by the relatively unknown duo, which gained momentum via word of mouth on the internet, is about childhood bullying and stuff. Awww. Wonder if they'll hang on for next week's Christmas Day #1?

The UK Top 10:

1. "The JCB Song" - Nizlopi *new*
2. "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" - Westlife ft. Diana Ross *new*
3. "Stickwitu" - Pussycat Dolls
4. "Hung Up" - Madonna
5. "Jingle Bells/U Can't Touch This" - Crazy Frog *new*
6. "Ugly" - Sugababes
7. "My Humps" - Black Eyed Peas
8. "Advertising Space" - Robbie Williams *new*
9. "Ultraviolet/The Ballad Of Paul K" - McFly *new*
10."You Raise Me Up" - Westlife

Well, kudos to anything that keeps WestDeath from lining themselves up with another sugar-laden, wave-your-candle, sounds-like-every-other-single-we've-released, oh-am-I-the-gay-one single.

Nizlopi are inevitably a one-hit-wonder, the kind only created at this time of year - Gary Jules, anyone?

UK Christmas #1 is unlikely to be Nizlopi, due to the release on Wednesday 21st of the single "That's My Goal" by Shayne Ward, winner of the UK reality "talent" contest The X-Factor. Inevitably, it's a big crock of stinking donkey shit.

Yeah, I'm totally reminded of this time two years ago when Gary Jules was #1 over there for like 4 weeks with "Mad World." Like, what??? Who??? Next!

Hmmm, so Madonna is still at #4? I hear she has a spanish version of "Hung Up" coming out soon.

p.s. I like the Gary Jules "Mad World" cover...although not enough to buy his album, "Trading Snakeoil For Wolftickets."

    Okay, I agree: "who??"
