Goodbye, Jewel?

Gotta love how Billboard describes Jewel entering the charts with her latest album.

Moving 82,000 copies, Jewel makes a return to The Billboard 200 with Goodbye Alice in Wonderland, which enters at No. 8, giving the singer-songwriter her fifth top 10 album. The final album under her Atlantic contract, Goodbye comes three years after the poppy 0304, which debuted at No. 2.

Ouch. "Final." Way to be back-handed! Well, to be honest, it's not Jewel's best. She shoulda stuck with tight cleavage-bearing clothes and drum machines.

I red some hilarious review that was like "Did you know Jewel lived in a van and like poetry? We did too, but she's here to tell us once again."

Whatever, she is rich, talented outraegeously beautiful and somehwat normal. I think she should skew toward the older Shawn Colvin crowd, doing sheds like Indigos and MAry CC do each summer.

Uh, all it says is "final" album on Atlantic. She's probably happy her contract is up.

Oh, and she has nice boobs.

as someone once said to me "i prefer jewel as a slutted up minx" and i have to agree ;) I don't own this album (yet) but 0304 was by far my fave album of hers to date and i am disappointed that she didn't continue in that direction. I am struggling to get excited about her lead off single but hey i'm feeling jaded this week :)

GOSH I wrote this long expose on Jewel that for some reason dind't get published on here! :(

Basically, this CD is actually very very very good. I've listened to it on repeat for the last 4 days! Also, 0304 was shamefully undercounted. Her "pop" direction was like totally not even a sell out. I mean it was all so guitar-driven and folksy and intelligent. She's damned if she did and damned if she don't. Poor Jewel.

Wait... when did you write an expose on Jewelbox? 0304 shoulda been her best-selling album, not that coffee-house drone-a-thon she released back in '95.
