Music Junkie Digest

First off, can anyone guess why Beyoncé is smiling? That's right -- because she's all worked for another Music Junkie Digest! She's probably also happy because -- ring the alarm! -- B'Day is the new #1 album, after first-week sales of 541,000 in North America. Her first solo album, Dangerously In Love, had first-week sales of 317,000 three years ago. Go B! It's your B'Day!

Now look what sweet little face we have here. It's everyone's fave 15-year-old pop ingenue, JoJo! We got into some hot water with our brazen banterview on JoJo a month ago -- you may recall some of the comments from readers -- but we really do love the little scamp. That's why we're happy her fall jam "Too Little Too Late" is finally available on the iTunes music store! Get downloading, y'all! Now, JoJo performed the song live at the Miss Teen USA pageant last month, but things didn't go so well...

What happened was her earpiece wasn't working, which you could visibly tell as she started to sing the first few lines. This clip is kinda painful to watch, because of how out-of-key she is, and she even lamented over this incident on her MySpace blog. However, she's no Ashlee Simpson. She soldiered on with the rest of the song and, I thought, got back on track by the end of it.

Incidentally, I've tried to add JoJo as a MySpace friend several times, but she never accepts. Wonder why? (Ha! Ha!)

Well, this brings us to the big news of the day, which of course is Britney Spears finally having her second spawn of K. Fed. What can you possibly say? Hey, I know! Let's revisit what I wrote almost exactly one year ago today when she shot out the first kid: Like a giant garbage truck overturning and spilling forth it's vile contents into the street, Britney Spears finally shot out her brat this afternoon in L.A., a boy. This makes her a mother for the first time, though it's the 3rd time husband Kevin Federline has blessed the planet with his seed.

Pure poetry, I tell you! But golly, again with the nasty anonymous comments. I don't get it...

Anyway, on a final note, some of you know that our good British friend Paul from Zappin' It To Ya has a wonderful legally-wedded husband named Darren. They're both as cute as buttons, and Paul often refers to Darren as "Daz" or "Dazpants." So, a few months back I suggested the nickname DazPanic!AtTheDisco, and it's pretty much caught on like wild fire, as evidenced by the latest cover of Spin:

And to think, Paul was resistant to the nickname at first...

[UPDATE]: It seems Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are divorcing. I'd write about this, but, like, they suck, so whatever...

Have you ever wondered why British people use the term "in our neck of the woods"?

Its pretty violent if you think about it.

Hmmm. Never thought about that one, but we use it a lot over here, too.

Poor Britney... if only she hadn't fired her orignal manager when she just started to break big and appoint her mom as the new one, she might have had better guidance. "Born To Make You Happy" really was a halcyon days tune...

Mums as managers. hmmmm. Not sure about that. She might have released a strange album of god-fearing and whatnot. I say we should just give up of Britney and move onto the little sister. At least its easier on the eye.

Pinkie do you live here? Maybe Jason can put you down as a resident for tax benefits.

Its interesting that Beyonce has sold more than her first as there isnt a feeling of fever with this release as there was with B-day.

We actually keep Pinkie in the Chart Rigger garage. Rent is really cheap, and he needs a roommate, in case anyone's interested...

Paul, it was just a DazPanic! kind of day yesterday...

Pinkie -- Britney's mom, er, mum did become her manager after she canned whomever was doing it before... that's when it all went awry for her, career-wise...

RobP, I think you meant you didn't think people were feeling it with this one as much as they were with Dangerously In Love... I know, right? As you'll see in the U.S. chart update today, "Ring The Alarm" has the Hot Shot Debut week at #12!! Who knew?
