Daft Punk Was Playing At Their House
A bit belated, here's a mostly pictoral report of my first night as DJ...
This is the little corner I had all Saturday night, and I basically stayed back there the entire time from 10:30 p.m. till 4 in the morning...
The two birthday boys: the devil and the terrorist.
At first I was playing "non-hit" (but still good!) music for the very mixed crowd, like The Feeling, LCD Soundsystem, Stardust and The Faint...
There was the one moment where the party kicked into high gear and everyone started dancing -- and that was Madonna's "Burning Up."
These people couldn't get enough '80s or Hip-hop. I learned that if you play Michael Jackson, Jackson 5, Madonna, Gwen Stefani or Snoop Dogg, you can do no wrong at a house party. Luckily The Duke (the devil, above) gave me some Dr. Dre and Snoop the weekend before...
Other big hits during the night: The Human League, Ol' Dirty Bastard, New Order, Rick Astley and Franz Ferdinand...
Strobe...or Photoshop?
Mom?
This pumpkin apparently only cost $2, and it was a trooper throughout the night. You can see it in the lower left corner of a few of the photos...
Anyway, 'twas a good time had by all, and if anyone's looking for a mediocre DJ-for-hire, my fee is a few glasses of sangria (non-negotiable).

Wot no Hannah Montana?! I thought surely "Pumpin' Up The Party Now" would have gotten a spin. I do like the D'luvly eyeliner though.

Yes, and I used to wear eye liner frequently in my glam rock club days when I first moved to L.A.

Eyeliner works on you! You and Ewan McGregor. You DO look good for someone who was in LA during the glam rock era. 1973? wink.

Wow, "Burning Up" -- great pick! I so wish I could have been there. That should have been *me* dancing like a ho.

I have found that Wanna Be Startin' Something sends people into a frenzy at weddings.

So you went dressed as La Flowers then love?

A little more BJ Armstrong than B Flo... though I wasn't dressed specifically as either...

Hmm, well, you aren't haggard like BJA, and being B.Flo now requires a moustache and a Colonel Sanders tie, so I'd say you're somewhere at a happy medium. Actually, in the pic you remind me a lot of Billie Ray Martin! (And you know that's totally a compliment.)
