Beyoncé Still #1, But Don't Forget About Mariah!

On the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, "Fergalicious" and "Smack That" flip-flop (again), and "How To Save A Life" and "We Fly High" switch places, but other than that, everything stays the same. The rest of the chart is also pretty much devoid of new activity, and so, let's get nostalgic for a moment and remember that one year ago this week, pop's craziest hooker Mariah Carey had the top U.S. single with "Don't Forget About Us." One can only hope Her Craziness will be back with something new in '07.

On a final note, so much for American Idol's "soul patrol," Taylor Hicks -- his self-titled album debuted at #2 last week but drops to #15 on the new chart. By contrast, Carrie Underwood, who won the show a whole year-and-a-half ago, moves up to #4 on the Top 200 Albums in its 58th week of release. Of course, the real AI flop prize goes to Fantasia, whose sophomore album entered the chart at #19 last week and drops like a dead crack ho to #63 this week!

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Irreplaceable" - Beyoncé *4 weeks*
2. "I Wanna Love You" - Akon feat. Snoop Dogg
3. "Fergalicious" - Fergie
4. "Smack That" - Akon feat. Eminem
5. "My Love" - Justin Timberlake feat. T.I.
6. "Say It Right" - Nelly Furtado
7. "How To Save A Life" - The Fray
8. "We Fly High" - Jim Jones
9. "Shortie Like Mine" - Bow Wow feat. Christ Brown & Johnta Austin
10. "Lips Of An Angel" - Hinder

I know, Pabo, but what can you do? It's an AI world, and we're all just an audience being told when to applaud.
