Gwen Stefani Makes The Sweet Escape Out Of The Top 10

The final Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart barely changes this week, save for "Fergalicious" and "Smack That" flip-flopping, and Gwen Stefani dropping out of the Top 10, leaving room for godawful Hinder to return. Gwen doesn't fare too well on the album chart, either, as she falls from last week's debut of #3 to #13. It's not all doom and gloom for her, however, since her new single, "The Sweet Escape," entered the Hot 100 -- albeit at #95.

All in all, chartwise, it's a drab end to 2006, much the way it's shaping to be in the U.K. for this weekend

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Irreplaceable" - Beyoncé *3 weeks*
2. "I Wanna Love You" - Akon feat. Snoop Dogg
3. "Smack That" - Akon feat. Eminem
4. "Fergalicious" - Fergie
5. "My Love" - Justin Timberlake feat. T.I.
6. "Say It Right" - Nelly Furtado
7. "We Fly High" - Jim Jones
8. "How To Save A Life" - The Fray
9. "Shortie Like Mine" - Bow Wow feat. Christ Brown & Johnta Austin
10. "Lips Of An Angel" - Hinder

Sigh. It's not very exciting is it. Still at least a 3 year old Kelly Clarkson tune done in carbon copy won't be your festive number one. Bah humbug, etc.

    That song's 4-and-a-half years old.

I agree, 'tis. I just can't believe it's been 4.5 years since Clarkson came on the scene.
