Timbaland Jazzes Up The New Duran Duran Album...With Justin Timberlake

I think it's great that Timbaland has declared that he's bored with Hip hop's same-sounding R&B structure, and that he's tapped into his inner '80s youth to craft some of the biggest hits this year.

Today Billboard confirmed that Duran Duran's next album will be released in May, and will contain three Timbaland-produced tracks, including one called "Night Runner," which also features Justin Timberlake. The other two songs are "Skin Diver" and "Zooming In." Click the Billboard link above to read what the band had to say the new material.

In the meantime, here's the video for Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right," which has Timbaland periodically squawking in the background.

Hmmm, when maneater/promiscuous girl/sexyback came out i was in a jizzy tizzy over their tribal beats and funky rhythms. And while i all but ignored Nelly's album I adored Justins. For a while. The sheen is wearing off a little now and it gets played a lot less (it's gathering dust next to Rudebox). So we will see about DD, although they are from my home city so i have to give them some loving (a rule which does not apply to UB40)

I have made clear how I feel about Timbaland's instrusiveness and ego as a producer. I am nervous these songs will suck ass (in a bad way). Dallas Austin did a decent job of allowing them to be them. Jury is out!

I forgot to say that for every Sunrise there is a Skin Trade! They have a good history of following a decent album with a bad one.

Paul, you should totally find yourself a copy of Nelly's album and give it a spin... I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I actually tried to get into Justin's, but can't dig him at all.

I never heard the entire Skin Trade album, but I remember the title track really had to grow on me over a long period of time.

Skin Trade is a track on Notorious. Maybe the Big Thing (indeed it is) album would be a better example.
