Enrique's Big Week, Rihanna's Beckham Weave

Enrique Iglesias has certainly had worse chart weeks in the U.S. In fact, after languishing in the lower reaches of the Billboard Hot 100's Top 40 for the past four weeks, the sexy mo-fo's single "Do You Know" does the cha-cha up nine positions to #21. And although Enrique's album Insomniac debuts at a so-so #17, it's still better than the #31 peak of his last one, 2003's 7. Let's hope Interscope moves quickly to promote "Tired Of Being Sorry" as the second single, since it's the crown achievement on Insomniac.

Elsewhere, while Rihanna is still #1, her video for new single "Shut Up And Drive" has premiered. Love the "Uptown Girl"/Mad Max motif, but can we at least get a moratorium on celebrity broads copping Posh's wig?

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Umbrella" - Rihanna feat. Jay-Z *4 weeks*
2. "Party Like A Rockstar" - Shop Boyz *airplay gainer*
3. "Big Girls Don't Cry" - Fergie
4. "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin')" - T-Pain feat. Yung Joc
5. "Hey There Delilah" - Plain White T's *sales gainer*
6. "Makes Me Wonder" - Maroon 5
7. "Girlfriend" - Avril Lavigne
8. "Summer Love" - Justin Timberlake
9. "Rehab" - Amy Winehouse
10. "Lip Gloss" - Lil Mama

i bloody love thursdays and sundays - i check here before i check the official charts :P You need to take over from the increasingly dull guy on dotmusic.com. Yay for Enrique :) i am so glad that is his second single!! And nice to see Maroon 5 hanging in there like Adam gripping onto my greasy pole.

I second Paul's excitement on the Enrique single--I think I heard rumors somewhere about "Push" being the next one, and, though I think that song is acceptable now, having it be the next single would have probably made me hate it; "Tired Of Being Sorry" is a great choice (if anything is for this album). And it's nice to see the first single finally move up.

"Shut Up And Drive" is such a brilliant summer song--I can't wait to hear it coming out of cars everywhere.

TOBS is actually likely going to be his second single internationally and third single in the States. I've changed the wording of that a bit in the post.

PG, at first I thought you were seconding Paul's final comment. Talk about good girl gone bad.
