If My December's Not Your Cup Of Tea...

Kelly Clarkson's My December is out today, and one zip through the clips on iTunes prove it is indeed an angry affair.

Here's a blurb from today's bruising Washington Post review:

"...just this month, Clarkson canceled her summer tour, citing lousy ticket sales. She also fired her manager. Given that Clarkson is a lonely, heartbroken gal these days (assuming "My December's" anguished confessionals are as real as advertised, anyway), one wonders who will help her through these tough times. Surely not all of the fans she has acquired over the past five years are going to stick with her during her blue period, as the material simply isn't strong or accessible enough."

I can't help but still like Kelly, despite the fact that, being one of the biggest pop stars, she didn't make the most commercial album. It's reasonably fair to think that hits like "Since U Been Gone," "Breakaway" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes" earned her enough credit for us to eventually look past this latest detour. And "Don't Waste Your Time" and "Be Still" off the new album seem like nice songs. Hopefully those are both future single contenders. So anyway, why not revisit our Kelly Clarkson banterview, where we lightly kick the bitch while she's down!

The Hannah Montana 2 soundtrack is also out today. Subtitled Meet Miley Cyrus, it's a double-sided album by Miley and her TV show alter ego.

And does each 10-song set sound different from the other, reflecting Hannah and Miley's differing personalities? Well, Disney's goal with this release doesn't exactly come across as being about crafting a savvy, well-thought-out concept record. Cha-ching! But don't pass it by without giving dark, new wave-y-sounding "See You Again" a listen.

Otherwise, just screw all these broads and download the EP for the new Editors single, "Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors," [video] which was also added to iTunes today.

Mylie/hMo looks kinda scary in that pic. I know she's a lil young but it looks like she's had her first facelift already.

HaMo looks like a designer's airbrushing tutorial! Poor girl!

Mind you. It is Disney after all, maybe they're planning to bypass the real thing for a CGI'd version 2 years down the line.

Bravo to Kelly for releasing the somewhat difficult, artistically rewarding My December. Of course, *I'm* never going to listen to it, but she should still be commended for telling Clive Davis to go screw himself.
