"Tired Of Being Sorry" Would Have Been A Hit If Ringside Had Slept With Each Other

Poster Girl discusses the new Enrique Iglesias album Insomniac in her post today, on which he covers Ringside's sadly overlooked 2004 single, "Tired Of Being Sorry" (originally titled "Spanishfaster"). If you don't know Ringside, they're a duo that consists of undescribably hot Scott Thomas and Balthazar Getty (and, yes, it's the same Balthazar Getty that's now on Brothers & Sisters).

Here's a pic of Scott Thomas:

And this is the video for their version of "Tired Of Being Sorry":

Clearly, the downfall for the song's success was that Scott ends up with a woman by the end, despite Balt begging him to marry him at the beginning of the video. Granted, it was late 2004, and gay marriage had already sunk the Democrats in the presidential election, so Scott probably thought he was making a wise, tactical political decision.

Alas, now Balthazar has gone on to find TV stardom alongside Ally McBeal and that old broad that was the mom in Mrs. Doubtfire, and Scott is left all alone...likely tired of being sorry.

Oh, how interesting! The choruses still have a similar feel, but the verses--it's interesting that the song works in both its "produced-up" version and one that sounds more...natural. I don't think I know anything about Ringside.

    (Thanks for the shout-out!)

I would accuse you of being attracted to men who vaguely resemble you (Mark Ronson too), but it seems to me you might be paired with a blond, so my theory is bunk.

I had no idea this was a cover. It's the strongest track on the new album IMHO.

I've yet to hear the full album, despite it's leak. I guess this coming week will put an end to that.

"Tired Of Being Sorry" is a great song for him to cover. I saw Ringside live at the Viper Room 2 and a half years ago, and interviewed Scott (swoon) around that time.

XO, interesting theory... and after all, the greatest love of all is easy to achieve -- learning to love yourself, it is the greatest love of all.
