All The Spice Girls Ticket Lottery Nonsense Finally Played Out Today

The Spice MILFs ticket drama was finally resolved today when there was an e-mail from "No Reply" stating that the presale was on as of 10 a.m. this morning. They're apparently doing two shows now in L.A. (December 5 and 7) and a Vegas show on the 8th. Gone is the New York date, though, and instead there is one in San Jose, California (random) kicking off the whole tour on the 4th. Sony Home Entertainment is also cashing in by releasing Spice World: Special Edition on DVD November 27 (pictured).

Oh, and did I mention that when all was said and done, the Spice Girls tickets were $134 each? There'd best be a stripper pole on stage. Also, the December 15 London show sold out in 38 seconds.

New Towleroad column up now!

    $ 134 ?!?!?

That's approximately the price I paid for 2 Kylie tickets which - apart from the fact that the concerts had a profound meaning after Kylie's recovery from cancer - were for great concerts by a great act with longevity and not some has beens who only do it for the money.

I didnt bother! Much better girlbands out there at the moment! I am a girlband whore but I'm not fucking wasting my little money for five girls who can't sing, can't dance and had 2 okayish albums and one absolutely awful piece of plastic.

Such vehement hostility against the Spice Girls!!!! I can tell you I was an absolute wreck from 9:45 am until about 11:30 this morning when I finally was able to get tickets for the San Jose show. UGH. They're not that good but they're not too bad either. I'm going to try to get better seats during public sales.. But I doubt I'll do better. I am REALLY excited. I am whipping out all my old Spice Girls merchandise and reliving my gay youth!!!

Mobius, I believe these conerts are benefiting charity in some capacity, so perhaps that might account for the price? Also, to be honest, there were two price levels -- $80 and $119 (plus the Ticketmaster fees) -- but I opted for the closer seats.

Rob, jeez, such vitriol. I like some songs off the third album... "Tell Me Why" and "If You Wanna Have Some Fun" are pretty great, in my book.

Joshua, I've been playing those old ho's all day long.

I am harsh because its a bit of tough love. I love the Spice Girls but the ticket prices have soured the entire experience. I was there back when Wannabe charted at no.52 or something crap like that. Long before it shot to no.3 and then no.1. (Oddly its original chart position is no.52 has been erased from wikipedia).

    Perhaps I imagined it.

    Anyway.

Spice Girls. Too expensive. The Kylie Homecoming tickets were 45 quid for front row tickets. Mobius has hit it the point right on the nuggins! Its simply far to expensive. 12 quid is what they really should have charged. They are not icons. I am sorry J'ason but those prices, the lottery and the lead-up to entire thing has put me off Spice Girls!

Someone get Vanilla back together! Xenomania's finest girlband!

the tickets ARE a bit pricey! And of course at the time, i was planning to be in vegas so there was no point in me going for those tickets cos now i won't be there. There's something about being on holiday and spending silly amounts of money to see shows that makes it ok :) Ah well, i imagine there will be HBO specials, dvds, live cds, spice girls vibrators, spice girls anti aging cream etc to tide those who missed out over. Viva Forever IS such a pretty song though :)

There's nothing random about my town being the epicenter of the new Spice invasion. It is, after all, the same city I saw "Spiceworld" in a theater that had at least five other people in it. They know how to play to their fan base.

I will buy those Spice Girl vibrators instead of the tickets.

    If the price is right!

Sex toys can be so expensive.

That story about the London sell-out is rubbish. Ticketmaster still had tickets when I was looking yesterday at around 10:40am.

I balked at the prices though - after all the added costs (booking fee, what a joke!) they wanted £95 each for some relatively rubbish seats. I've been to the O2 twice now (Scissor Sisters at a more respectful £45) so I've got a good concept of where the good seats are!

With the money I've saved I'll spice up my life some other way...

Spice forever! Not that I'll be going to a concert, but I am so digging out my old Ginger Spice outfit and forcing all my sisters to go find their Spice outfits so we can go record some more videos of us miming along to their songs and performing ridiculous dance routines.

Either that or rallying us all together so we can go burn all the old photos and videos of us doing that.

I might shell out for the cheap seats but for 134$ I'd expect lapdances and happy endings all round.

Poor Vanilla, I just googled 'Vanilla "No Way"' and in the top three results we have such complimentary words as "WORST GIRLBAND EVER!!" and "Behold the ugliest girl band in Christendom." :-(

    "Man-ah man-ah!"
