Leona Lewis Uses Her Power Of Mediocrity To Block Take That From A U.K. #1

Well, it would have been a beautiful world for Take That to rule if Z-grade reality show warbler Leona Lewis hadn't mucked it all up. This week Lewis' "Bleeding Love" trumps the That's top notch Stardust-soundtrack ballad, "Rule The World," at capping the official U.K. chart. This marks the second time Simon Cowell's latest finger puppet has kicked the guys to the side -- at Christmas time last year, her debut single knocked "Patience" from #1. I'm officially ripping that hooker's wig off if I ever see her.

And so this means Leona and Take That also keep McFly from landing their eighth U.K. #1, as "The Heart Never Lies" has to settle for the second runner-up spot. If we're to go by the usual trend with these half-baked twits, they'll drop out of sight come next week.

Oasis round out the Top 10, while quite a bit lower, at #24, Backstreet Boys are finding that "Inconsolable" might just be an aptly-named theme for their latest stab at hangin' around, post departed member Kevin Richardson. The single peaked at #86 here in the Sates. The Boys' album Unbreakable is out this week.

On the album chart, all the media hype eases the fall of Róisín Murphy's Overpowered to #31, after a so-so debut last week at #20.

The U.K. Top 10:

1. "Bleeding Love" - Leona Lewis *new* *1 week*
2. "Rule The World" - Take That
3. "The Heart Never Lies" - McFly *new*
4. "About You Now" - Sugababes
5. "Valerie" - Mark Ronson feat. Amy Winehouse
6. "Gimme More" - Britney Spears
7. "Apologize" - Timbaland feat. OneRepublic
8. "Uninvited" - Freemasons feat. Bailey Tzuke
9. "Goodbye Mr. A" - Hoosiers
10. "Lord Don't Slow Me Down" - Oasis *new*

i like the leona lewis song. it has a nice sort of 90s pre slut mariah vibe to it. Back when she was on the swing in jeans and a sweater, not now where she in on the sling in hot pants and a tiara. And yay for Take that though i thought howards lungs might have sympathy pushed them to number one. And yes, sadly mcfly will have to settle for a number 33 position next week, boo you whores :( Well done the hoosiers for getting a number one album though! Where did Robyn's single end up?

Oh! And that BSB song is finally growing on me. I kinda luv it.

Oddly, I am starting to like Bleeding Love. I heard it the other day (not online) and was shocked to find that its actually oooooookay. It could have been worse. She shoulda done a trashy disco song though. Something Gina G woulda been proud about!

I am really surprised about Roisin! The album+single has had tons of promo. It was all over London. Posters are everywhere. Moreover what the fuck happened with Mel C!?Oh yeah-shite music! (She's 94 this week on downloads/physicals!)

Ok Robyn details as Paul did ask...

LONDON date-FUCKING SOLD OUT!!! I Cant get tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I am gonna go on the night. They gotta have some spares going! I tried all the agencies. Its all impossible to purchase!

    Handle Me:

    UK Airplay Chart-no.17

Itunes-It went to number 19 today.

In the real charts? Handle Me is at no.43!!!!!!!! Nice!

To put that into some kind of context.....Roisin is no.60 with Let me Know on physicals and downloads. The album has also re-entered the charts....

It bodes well for a top 20 hit for Robyn once the single is properly out there.

Poor Raisin! I really like the album, give or take a few tracks. "Crybaby" is a not-so-veiled homage to Bobby O's greatest production ever: Divine's "Native Love"! It's pretty terrific.

Still peeing a little over "half-baked twits." HA

And I don't know how it happened, but "Inconsolable" has been a favorite of mine for the past month. I think it's all down to AJ's frought reading of the line, "I climb the walls..." Tres emotional, no?

What utter rubbish. Leona's single took Take That to the cleaners.
    219K versus 98k.
Fastest selling single of the year.
Congratulations to Leona. The UK has its own diva, and in Leona i could not be more proud.
The sweetest young woman with the most beautiful voice

Leona is England's Dulta. An overhyped, talentless whore. Raisin is almost as shit.

Not a Leona fan, eh? I'm hopeful her album will be good. I think she has the potential to be the biggest UK reality show-originating talent since Will Young. I like Bleeding Love. It's different enough to make you take notice. This is much better than her tepid Kelly Clarkson remake.
