Look, Feist, You're Just Not Britney Spears

Oh, my. Well, look at it this way, Feist -- it's not like your ditty "1234" wasn't charming. It really was. And, really, plunging from #8 to #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week kinda sucks when you look at it on the surface. But, it's just that there are far more talented musicians out there crowding the Top 10...like Soulja Boy. And, oh, look -- there's Britney and T-Pain. Awesome!

But surely you'll have another hit, and it'll be even bigger than "1234." Apple will be doing more commercials, and so maybe they'll ask you for another song? Uh...

Anyway, the Hot 100's a bunch of crap this week as usual. Over on the Top 200 Albums chart, Tom Petty or Bruce Dylan or some shit is at #1, and Matchbox Twenty's semi-greatest hits, Exile On Mainstream, debuts at #3. You know, one of these days I gotta slip some rohypnol in Rob Thomas' Red Bull. I think that's a plan. Annie Lennox debuts at #9 on the album chart with Songs Of Mass Destruction. Hopefully she sticks around there for a bit.

Sistas are doin' it for themselves, you know.

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" - Soulja Boy *5 weeks*
2. "Stronger" - Kanye West
3. "Gimme More" - Britney Spears
4. "Apologize" - Timbaland feat. OneRepublic
5. "The Way I Are" - Timbaland feat. Keri Hilson & D.O.E.
6. "Bed" - J. Holiday
7. "Bubbly" - Colbie Caillat
8. "No One" - Alicia Keys
9. "Big Girls Don't Cry" - Fergie
10. "Good Life" - Kanye West feat. T-Pain

Sounds like somebody's secretly in love with a certain Feisty gal...why, if this was first grade, you'd be pulling her pigtails and stealing her lunch. Get a room already...sheesh!

Is the new Matchbox 20 single the one that sounds like Modern Romance (Modern English? Modern Talking?) "I Melt With You"? Cuz if so, I'm kind of into it.

Ok. Am I the only one that is utterly mortified that a song as categorically unlistenable as "Crank That" is the number one song in our poor, tasteless country?!?
