The U.K. Chart Is Sweet As Sugababes

It's a bit of a quick post today, as Miss Pussy and Cracker are being extremely demanding for attention! There's not much new going on with the official U.K. singles chart this week, anyway. Sugababes are #1 again with "About You Now," a song that completely proved to be a grower and a shower -- I absolutely think it's one of their five best singles to date. Their fifth album, Change, is out in the U.K. tomorrow, and despite the fact that the tracks have leaked online, I'm maintaining abstinence.

Yes, the three broads have officially graduated to that I'm waiting for the CD to come out before hearing the songs! territory.

Of course, I told this to a friend of mine last week who was raving about how "massive" Change is. His response: "Stop paying for music! That's so '80s!"

The U.K. Top 10:

1. "About You Now" - Sugababes *2 weeks*
2. "Let Me Think About It" - Ida Corr vs. Fedde Le Grand
3. "No U Hang Up/If That's OK With You" - Shayne Ward
4. "Ayo Technology" - 50 Cent feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland
5. "Hey There Delilah" - Plain White T's
6. "Beautiful Girls" - Sean Kingston
7. "Valerie" - Mark Ronson feat. Amy Winehouse
8. "1,2,3,4" - Feist
9. "She's So Lovely" - Scouting For Girls
10. "Stronger" - Kanye West

And we have FEIST in the UK Top 10 as well! Woo-hoo..!

And I am pretty sure I know the author of that 80's comment! :) I couldn't agree more.

The UK charts are becoming as dire as Australia and the US. What a pile of smelly shit!

I'm all pleased that shayne ward didn't plummet from 2 to 27 or something ridiculous. and the more i hear about you now the more i love it.

I succumbed and listened to the album. They really are a very good singles act :P

I ordered the Sugababes cd online a month ago but found the tracks online and downloaded them because I couldn't wait -- the album is fantastic and it's all i listened to this past weekend. A few growers, but it's a stronger album the their past efforts. They have a good run of singles ahead of them...

Shayne plummeted to number 69. Between my legs.

Very pleased for the Sugababes. I'm also looking forward to hearing what you think on the rest of the album, which is my record of the year so far. "Denial" and "Open The Door" being its best moments.

Quite ballad heavy, but they're good ballads, so that excuses it for me.

Yuri, it's actually not who you might be thinking... it's a friend from the 'outside world.'

Mike, I don't know that any chart could be as bad as the U.S. one at the mo'...

Paul, I'm quite intrigued myself at Shayne's stamina. Me-ow!! Yeah, "About You Now" is such a grower, and once it does, it demands repeat plays.

Anonymous, my CD shipped yesterday, so hopefully I get fresh by the weekend!

XO, no, doll, that was actually just your mesh thong that fell down there....

Adem, I'd read on Amazon that it was ballad-heavy. I'll let you the assessment once I hear it, fo' sure.
