I Don't Think I Want A Piece Of Britney Anymore... Is It Too Late To Give It Back?

Rolling Stone sent a writer to the set of Britney Spears' "Piece Of Me" video shoot Wednesday, and there's a pretty hot account of it all up on the mag's website. The call time was apparently 8:00 a.m., and the article says Twitney didn't show up till 8:35 p.m.! Anyway, the premise of the video is B.S. slinking around with four look-a-likes in tow, as the paparazzi chase after them. Heavy.

"Sort of like real life," writes Rolling Stone, "except five Spears in real life would make the universe collapse." Ha!

The write up goes on to wax philosophical about "Piece Of Me" (currently at #63 on the Billboard Hot 100) -- and why shouldn't they ponder it with a bit more depth, seeing how as Robyn does backing vocals:

Given its reputation as the standout track on Blackout, its placement as the background music during the confrontation between Lauren and Spencer’s sister on The Hills and its anti-paparazzi theme, we thought for sure this was the song to propel Spears back to the top of the TRL charts — or at least help Blackout go gold (and draw attention away from Brit’s wig-shoplifting tendencies).

The "Piece Of Me" video is to debut sometime in late December. I don't know about helping Blackout go gold, though. After only four weeks, the album dropped out of the Top 40 and is now at #43 on the chart.

Meanwhile, did anyone else completely burn out on Blackout after the first week? I think I'd rather plunger my eyes out than hear it ever again. I just couldn't take it anymore, and had to move on to classier, more meaningful music. Like Hannah Montana.

i flip flopped on it that much that i can't even remember if i liked it or not, i know i haven't had any inclination to listen to it for about 3 weeks and while Piece of Me is quite good i think Bloodshy and Avant have more to do with that than the little whore singing.

I hate "Piece Of Me". It's woeful self-pitying rubbish. People will stop taking pictures of Britney if the silly cunt remembers to wear some underpants and stops carrying on like a crazy person. I didn't get the "Blackout" appreciation at all. Didn't this amazing Blog even give it a very positive review? I just assumed you were back on the pipe that week.

The Britney CD isn't bad however its just like the Paris Hilton cd- you kinda forget about it. I'm waiting for Hayden Panetierre's CD in Spring to be my mid-grade pop fix. Until then its Kylie's X.

Pablo, yeah, I burnt out on the whole thing about three weeks ago, too.

    Mike, no comment!

    Smash hit, etc., um.......

Jump!, but the real question is this: when is the Kim Kardashian CD coming out?

I still like the album lots, but haven't given it a spin in about 2/3 weeks.

But that said, over the last 2/3 weeks, I haven't listened to anything other than Kylie and GA's new albums, so maybe that's why.

No more love for Heaven On Earth?? Aww, I'm still finishing choreography and sewing last-minute sequins for the drag performance to that song!
