Janet Jackson's Single Is Sounding More And More Like Everyone But Janet Jackson

I expected Janet Jackson's "Feedback" to land in the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot 100 this week -- which I bet Camp Jackson was hoping for, too -- but, alas, no. Now that the video's premiered, here's another soundalike.

Last week I pointed out how the vocals in the song -- particularly during the bridge and the chorus -- were similar to Lisa Scott-Lee's "Electric." Now the music track is sounding more and more like Richard X vs. Liberty X's "Being Nobody" each time I hear "Feedback."

So whatta we got going on in the Hot 100 this week, anyway? Rihanna's got her 17th single off Good Girl Gone Bad in the Top 40 ("Don't Stop The Music" at #26), and yet the album has yet to be certified more than platinum. Meanwhile, Josh Groban is quadruple platinum with that Christmas shit and The Eagles are (and this has to be a typo on Billboard's part) seven times platinum!?

Psychotic walking disaster that she is, I still like Britney Spears' "Piece Of Me," which sits at #28 for a second week. And I finally caved in and downloaded Miley Cyrus' "See You Again," which inches up to #47. Goddamn Hannah Montana! It's the synths. They do it every dang time. Miley's also got the Hot Shot Debut at #68 with "Start All Over Again."

Finally, Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown's not-too-shabby duet, "No Air," enters the Hot 100 at #95.

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Low" - Flo Rida feat. T-Pain *3 weeks* *airplay gainer*
2. "No One" - Alicia Keys
3. "Apologize" - Timbaland feat. OneRepublic
4. "Kiss Kiss" - Chris Brown feat. T-Pain
5. "Clumsy" - Fergie
6. "Bubbly" - Colbie Caillat
7. "Paralyzer" - Finger Eleven
8. "Tattoo" - Jordin Sparks
9. "Love Song" - Sara Bareilles
10. "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" - Soulja Boy Tell'em

I'm gonna defend D'Luv on this one...the whispered part on "Being Nobody" sounds JUST like Janet on "Feedback". And it was a good reason for me to play Liberty X. Ah, the promise. They were THIS close to getting some airplay in the US.

Thank you, John. I always knew you were gentleman. Can NOBODY hear the same sequencer-y keyboard thing going on in both songs? The truth is out there, Janet!!!!

Joshua, I want to, but it's my birthday weekend and I might be crunked out of my gourd!

How lame is that Star-Trek-meets-Kellog's-cereals commercial for "Feedback"? I guess they hacked her budget after all those flops.
