A Slew Of Idols Get Axed From Sony BMG

It was reported yesterday that Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard were dropped by J Records. Now add Katharine McPhee to the scrap heap.

Taylor and Katharine were the respective winner and runner-up from the 2006 season of American Idol, and Ruben won about 46 years ago.

But none of this is really any loss. With the exception of McPhee's single "Over It" -- which I was over the moon about for about a week last year -- these three were about as exciting as reading the labels on Paula Abdul's pill bottles. Actually, that might be kind of fascinating, come to think of it.

Anyway, Ruben, Taylor and Katharine had better make room for Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis in the unemployement line, at the rate their albums have been selling these past two months.

The new season of dream-destroying machine American Idol begins next week on Tuesday.

Never liked her.. And what a BAD song. The album's production was terrible. I really felt that the show was trying to push her to be the winner.

    Give me substance, PLEASE!

I always felt McPhannee was just incredibly bland in song and in looks; like Anne/Egg/Yam on Arrested Development.

There was nothing special about Katharine and just because she recorded one good song, there is no reason to be disappointed by this news. Next!

El Marv, I sorta liked "Over It" or "Over You" or whatever it was, but only because it sounded like JoJo's "Too Little, Too Late," which was one of my fave jamz in '06.

Adem, yeah, and she bitched about how "hard it is" to record songs. Better luck on the stripper pole, dame.

AcerB-boy, next, indeed! Carrie Underwood has already sold 2 million copies of her latest album... I think I heard last night on TV that she's the best-selling Idol so far.

"Over It" was a fantastic song, but Carrie U can't be the best-selling Idol so far! Season One's Nikki McKibbin's debut went at least…pussy.

BTW, what's up with Carrie's album being called "Carnival Ride." HELLO?! Is that she calls being inside her heaven?

Oh, and didn't Jim Verraros have some success with "Fuck Me Like A Rollercoaster" or something?

sorry ROOben - karmas a bitch. that fat slob made me rub his "velvet teddy bare" for some backstage passes and then left some foodstamps at willcall for my ass instead. now who need the foodstamps now!?!

I'm disappointed that Katharine's record didn't get more attention; there are some great songs, and posh production on her record. Maybe she can be more visible on her own... who knows?
