Fly, Robyn, Fly

Robyn futher infiltrates the U.S. as the "Fyre Department Remix" of Snoop Dogg's "Sensual Seduction" -- or, in this case, "Sexual Eruption" -- is made available today on iTunes, the same week she kicks off three sold-out club dates in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The pixie-haired pop doll is also shooting the video for "Who's That Girl?" in New York. I finally heard "Sensual Seduction" (sans Robyn) for the first time on the radio last night, and not to be biased, but Robyn definitely adds a little extra zazz to the tune.

I didn't mention in the U.K. chart post Sunday, but Robyn's self-titled album climbed to a new peak of #11, while the single for "Be Mine!" dropped from its two-week stint at #10 to #14.

Additionally, she's featured on backing vocals on Britney Spears' "Piece Of Me" -- currently at #18 on Billboard's Hot 100 -- which was written by her pal Klas Ahlund.

New singles from Gnarls Barkley, Sean Kingston and Jewel also popped up on iTunes today.

Wow, you don't look at the U.S. iTunes chart for a little bit and the next thing you know you've got a random French-Israeli singer at the top of it!

Anyway, what I meant to say was thanks for the heads-up that the Snoop/Robyn song is on iTunes! I just went over and bought it. You're so right, too--that version really is better than the original, and it's not just a "because Robyn's name is attached to it" thing. The first time I heard the Snoop song (original version), I really wanted to like it--all that "look, Snoop's done a funny video!" buzz and everything--but it didn't really work for me...until this version.

Hey you might like Paola. She's Swedish...her album is like the sound of the current pop scene...perhaps she might be the next Swedish singer to make it...

That Robyn/Snoop mix is definitely leaps and bounds better than Snoop's original, and I'm sure he's aware of that too. CAN THIS WOMAN DO NO WRONG?

She's back in Oz come April, around the same time Roisin's down, much to my excitement.

The Fyre Dept. are the hottest production team out right now (50 Cent, Keyshia Cole, Justin). Brooklyn hitters - of course this version is going to be sick. The first Verse when snoop kicks it in is incredible.
