Oprah's Sinking Her Fangs Into Leona Lewis

Oh, Jesus. There'll be no escaping Leona Lewis now. She set to perform "Bleeding Love" on Oprah Monday, March 17th. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Sure, Leona's a foxy dame and she won X Factor, but Shayne Ward is just as hot -- why doesn't Oprah have him on? Oh, that's right. She's all about empowering women -- so long as they're not running for President.

I'm guessing "Bleeding Love" will shoot through the roof after next week. Oprah had that dork Josh Groban on at the end of last year, and his damn Christmas album became the bestseller of 2007 within a matter of weeks.

On its own, the Leona hype hasn't done much for the song. It's been available on U.S. iTunes since the fall, but is only now showing up in the online store's Top 20.

Anyway, guess Clive will have no need for Whitney Houston anymore. Chuck her old rat weave the snake pit.

Excellent dig at The Almighty O for her Obama over Hillary endorsement. Fuck her for not respecting the sisterhood of the traveling snatch…I mean, sisterhood!

Yeah, people should only vote for people with similar genitalia. That's a great reason to vote! Three cheers for Ann Coulter as the next president of Earth when she runs since 51% of all humans are women, she would win in a contest against a man.

Can this boring Leona cunt just fuck off and die?! The whole endeavour reeks of dirty backroom deals - and not the fun kind that Janet gets up to with her 12" double dildos.

I'm not sure which is worse. The fact that you're bashing on music's next superstar or the fact that your readers worship you like you're all that or something. It's downright cult-like here!

Leona will be huge whether you like it or not. She's already at #7 on VH1 and #13 on iTunes without much promotion. The radio stations here are just BARELY discovering her. Her music speaks much louder than your empty words.

Kudos to Oprah for recognizing the great talent she is and putting her on her show. And oh yeah, you might be interested to know she's performing on American Idol in a few weeks too.

Leona's many fans will have the last laugh in all of this while you and your little cult just wallow in sadness and hatred. I truly feel sorry for people like you.

Come on Mr Chart Rigger! Whatever you think of the song, you have to concede that it is doing phenomenally well really quickly. It only entered the top 100 2 weeks ago and now it's already top 20.

  • At 6:04 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Do yall know anything about US charts?
    1. shes a total unkown
    2. shes gone from top100 to #13 itunes in 1 week and shell be #1 by next week at this rate
    3. this is all with no promotion so far
    4. #30 on media base

Thats pretty damm impressive, when the promo starts its gonna explode.

D-Luv, are you really THAT uninformed? Perhaps you need to start reading the industry trades such as allaccess, HITS, Billboard and R&R a little more. If you had DONE YOUR HOMEWORK, you would have discovered that "Bleeding Love" was only serviced to radio stations 4 weeks ago (February 5th) and that VH1 just started showing her video about 3 weeks ago. It's hard for people to know about a song (let alone want to buy it) if they haven't heard it!!!

Oh D'luv you GOT told! Ooh! Can I interest you in THE ROBYN ALBUM that is now available!!!!

Oo-oh, I get it -- so the payola kicked in?

I ain't never heard o' none of these Billboard trades. What're them?

  • At 11:15 AM, Anonymous d'luv is uninformed said…

FYI, VH1's chart is based on viewer requests. The iTunes chart is based on physical sales. In New York, "Bleeding Love" is consistently amongst the top 5 most requested songs at Z-100, the nation's most influential pop music station. It appears that you don't even know what PAYOLA is, do you? Also, those are FOUR trades that previous poster mentioned - Billboard is just one of them. It appears you don't know all that much about music!

GAH. I couldn't agree more; where's the love for Shayne?? He is AMAZING, and gets NOTHING. I love that Leona song, but the rest of the album is just okay IMHO; whereas Shayne has two solid ones under his belt.

I just wish the boy could get some US love!

Well, Oprah promoted Heather Small's "proud" with no luck-maybe the same nothing will happen to Leona. I truly think Oprah is the anti-Christ and the worst thing to happen to America-ever!

Why cant all you haters just get a life? So what if u don't like her songs or that shes getting so much promotion... Jealousy maybe? But u don't have to wish her dead! How pathetic! People are liking her song... So they are buying/downloading it... And in a few weeks WITHOUT promotion its made it from 100# to 21! Leona, her album and singles have become world success... That is a FACT not an opinion! Shes going to make it big! Then i would love to see all your faces drop when she becomes as big as Whitney!

  • At 2:00 PM, Blogger John said…

Wow...drama, drama, drama. This is bigtime now!

Okay...let's break it down. The song was released on iTunes in December. Didn't do anything for a couple of months. The record label had to make a NEW video because the first one was THAT bad, but there's NO promotion behind the single whatsoever. And then Z100 (who HAVE had issues with payola in the past...read your history) plays the song, and much of America yawns again.

Is this some kind of nursing home project to take up a "cause", because this is getting kind of old.

  • At 3:07 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

My word, some of you yanks are defensive! John is also incorrect about the first video being "bad." The ONLY reason for the new video is they wanted to create something a little different for the U.S. audience. By using NY for the video, it gives it a more American feel.

You also may want to do some research and see how the song is testing before you go blabbing nonsense about payola.

So John, I assume you're safely sitting in that nursing home, correct?

The Lambs have moved over to Team Lewis. I have no issue with people who say, "Love Leona, she rocks!" but what about those who say "Why cant all you haters just get a life?" Right. No one is seriously wishing her dead. Why can't those same Leona fans cope with the idea that some people find her derivative and dull? She IS talented, no doubt, but there in an invisible tank with millions in cash getting her the airplay to get those VH1 votes.

Gotta go, I am boarding the hooker bus to Heidi Fleiss's cathouse.

BTW, when was the last time any of you heard of a record company just casually making a new video, given how much financial trouble the labels are in these days?

  • At 5:08 PM, Blogger Moogaboo said…

Leona is l'ennui total, but her marketing is even more of a turn-off. You just know her second album is going to be a Clive Davis affair, stuffed to the gills with flavor-of-the-month duets and flash-in-the-pan producers. I give it three years till her first meltdown.

  • At 5:22 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

listen to all you haters. Leonas heading for the big time n there aint fuck all you can say that will change anything. Yall are in for a big disappointment if you think shes gonna flop, bleeding love has gone to #1 almost everywhere it was released thats nearly 30 countries and growing.

  • At 5:33 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

    Listen people.

Leona Lewis is one of the most talented singers around. As Simon Cowell said, if she has "no personality", then at least she isn't as wild as Briney. Give the girl a break.

I seriously think some people in America think that their country is the only one that matters. America is not the be all and end all. Just because some of you ignorant lot don't like her doesn't mean everyone.

What is so entrancing about this singer? Leona's voice is alright, but she has the personality of a wet mop. The album is chock full of dreary ballads, so naturally it will be HUGE here.

They should so have Shayne Ward on the Oprah show, he is so much more talented and definately way hotter ! She is Simon Cowell latest pop puppet and it nothing new. She is much the same as Mariah Carey so if you guys like that kinda bland stuff then you might like Leona. I fell asleep after the 2nd track !
YOu should try and get hold of Shayne Ward album "Breathless" if your looking for something classy.
