Britain's Got Talent Winner George Sampson Sends Mint Royale To #1

Fourteen-year-old George Sampson's dance performance to Mint Royale's mix of "Singin' In The Rain" during the Britains's Got Talent finals was truly stunning. In turn, the 2005 track tops the U.K. singles chart this week.

Thank goodness for YouTube, 'cause I never watch this shit. Especially when Simon Cowell's involved. But George seems like a sweetheart.

Speaking of kids, 16-year-old Aussie Gabrielle Cilmi gets some Top 10 love finally as "Sweet About Me" makes it to #7 after several months on the chart. Another Amy Winehouse knockoff? Just what the world needs!

Keeping the teen theme going, Chris Brown, 19, debuts at #11 with what I've found to be single of the year so far, "Forever." The push comes from downloads alone, two weeks ahead of a physical single hitting shelves.

On a final note, it's interesting to see Radiohead's "Creep" pop back up (at #37) after 15 years. The band's EMI/Capitol back catalog was finally added to iTunes this past week, and surely, if we had the same chart rules in the States as the Brits do, "Creep" would land on the Hot 100 as well, as it's being downloaded like crazy here, too. Just don't tell Prince.

The U.K. Top 10:

1. "Singin' In The Rain" - Mint Royale *1 week* *new*
2. "Take A Bow" - Rihanna
3. "That's Not My Name" - The Ting Tings
4. "Warwick Avenue" - Duffy
5. "Closer" - Ne-Yo
6. "Love Song" - Sara Bareilles
7. "Sweet About Me" - Gabriella Cilmi
8. "4 Minutes" - Madonna Feat. Justin Timberlake
9. "Black And Gold" - Sam Sparro
10. "Heartbreaker" - Will.I.Am Feat. Cheryl Cole

omg! Gabrielle Cimli. I'm actually going a little Amy-knockoff crazy right now (not coke-crazy though - god forbid!) AND I've peeped out some Adele, Duffy, Amy AND Gabrielle Cimli. I load them all up on my winamp, hit shuffle, blast them while I clean my new apartment, and

I CANNOT TELL WHEN IT SHUFFLES FROM ONE ARTIST TO THE NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!11 They all sound exactly the same!!

Performing on TV in your own personal rainstorm is ALWAYS a good idea.

Oh no no no about the Virgin Megastore in Times Square! Sad :(

PG, the rainstorm gets me each time!

Joshua, it's easy to tell...Duffy's the one that's not a cunt.

I was actually spellbound for a few minutes watching that clip last week. In a pretty jaded reality TV world, that was just brilliant. But to own the song without the dancing? Why?

BTW...don't know if you'd appreciate this or not, but Alphabeat did a cover of "Black and Gold" on BBC's Live Lounge. The feed through BBC's site is blocked to the States (which sucks..why do I pay for Sirius, then?), but here's the clip on YouTube.
