The Pussycat Dolls = Popporn

Gotta give the Pussycat Dolls credit for their global theme with new album Doll Domination, out September 23. There's nothing the planet needs more than a pack of strippers with their thighs wrapped around a hog.

And classy how Nicole Scherzinger still gets preferential treatment, after having her pussy-tail shoved between her legs and having to crawl back to the group following a failed solo venture.

But I'm constantly amazed at the success of first single "When I Grow Up." It's shocking how utterly dismal it is. And Rodney Jerkins? Wasn't he best left in the year 2000?

The new album is rumored to also have collaborations with Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Cee-Lo Green, Kara DioGuardi, Fernando Garibay, Lady GaGa, Ryan Tedder and Taio Cruz. Could be a recipe for an uneven hodge podge with too many cooks in the kitchen.

So far this year, it's Danity Kane: 1, PCD: 0. And that score has cost these Cats about eight lives.

If you had asked me when the first single came out what they'd be dominating, I would have said the cutout bin in about six months. But "Grow Up" was way more successful than I thought it would be, so who knows. It still holds the title for lamest single of the year, but they're probably going to break six-figures on the week of release.

the album isn't even out yet... aren't you writing them off a little too soon?

I thought there was about 8 of them? Did they lose a couple of strippers? What happened to the redheaded dude? Did he go all post-op and leave the group?

The only good thing about PCD is at least Siobhan Fahey earnt a few bucks when they sampled Bitter Pill on the first album.

D'luv, you left out the most important contributor: Chris "Forever"/"Disturbia" Brown! No idea if they're making the album (actually, I think they aren't), but there are several demos out there of him singing songs he submitted for them. I love the chorus to "Captive"--"you're coming with me boy, no need to resist"...

John, yes, but I wonder if the first single did well only because the album wasn't out...and if anyone will bother with the followups once the full thing is finally released?

Vic, never! You should always judge a book by its cover, my chylde.

Johnny D, and can you please tell me why the Siobhan track wasn't released as a single? That was some good shit.

Poster Girl, had no idea about Chris Brown. That could go either way. He seems to surprise with about every other single.
