Beyoncé Lands Her Fifth U.S. #1 Solo Single

It's a big Beyoncé and T.I. double-decker sandwich at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart, with those two having warbled their way into the top four positions.

Beyoncé nabs her fifth solo #1 with "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," and her ninth chart-topper in the U.S. overall, including her hits with Destiny's Child.

A strong contender to knock queen B off next week is Britney Spears, whose same-titled second single off Circus has been the top download on iTunes since Tuesday night.

The Hot Shot Debut on the chart this week comes from Kanye West and Lil Wayne at #21 with "See You In My Nightmares." But as mentioned yesterday, his 808s & Heartbreak album appears to be a dud, so hopeful Kanye fades away faster than you can say Alicia Keys this go round.

Rihanna's eighth single off Good Girl Gone Bad, "Rehab," moves up to #28 this week. And if you needed one more nail in the coffin for music sales, even after eight singles, that album is only certified double platinum.

Anyway, despite posting not so groovy sales with Day & Age (which debuts at #6 this week on the album chart), The Killers' "Human" jumps up from #63 to #49.

"Human" initially entered the Hot 100 and peaked at #32 two months ago.

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Beyoncé *1 week * *airplay gainer*
2. "Live Your Life" - T.I. feat. Rihanna
3. "If I Were A Boy" - Beyoncé
4. "Whatever You Like" - T.I.
5. "Just Dance" - Lady GaGa feat. Colby O'Donis
6. "Hot N Cold" - Katy Perry
7. "Miss Independent" - Ne-Yo
8. "So What" - Pink
9. "Womanizer" - Britney Spears
10. "I'm Yours" - Jason Mraz

that is crazy about rihanna only going platinum. at first i was thinking it was a case of the RIAA taking a while to update - you know how sometimes an album will show gold forever and then suddenly it will be x3 platinum (at least back in the day).

But as I think about it the kind of girls that like people like Rihanna all steal it off the internet - and they don't even front by saying download - they just say steal - they don't feel these type of entertainers are artists that deserve their money - or care. And they figure they're making all their money from endorsements anyhow.

    strange state of times.

I definitely feel that were this about 10 or even five years ago, this album would have gone at least six times platinum.
