Kelly Clarkson's New Album Is 'Masquerade'

Kelly Clarkson's new album is called Masquerade, and it'll be released March 17. First single "My Life Would Suck Without You" being produced by Max Martin and Dr. Luke? Yaaaaayyy!

Kelly working with Ryan Tedder on the rest of the album? Groooaaan. Don't get me wrong...OneRepublic's "Apologize"? Total jam. And a few of the Blake Lewis songs, failed though that project did, were great.

But Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" proved that Ryan Tedder can be bland and boring as hell when the money is right, and something tells me Clive Davis is shoving $100 bills down Ryan's jock with his tongue to make Kelly have a hit again.

Oh, well...positive thoughts.

Incidentally, Pet Shop Boys' Yes will be released a week later. It's shaping up to be a sexy spring 2009!

D'Luv - Kelly seems to be channeling her Leona all through the album:

    Tedder? Check.
Max Martin and Dr Luke? Check.
    Claude Kelly? Check.

Perhaps you ought to be careful what you wish for ;)

Masquerade, huh? Sounds like Britney's next album title... but if the new song is anything like "Since U Been Gone" then all will be forgiven. And yay for the new PSB record...

popjustice says the song sounds like Since U Been Gone, which is a-ok by be. I am very (ooo that works) excited about the PSB album!

Maybe we just blame "Bleeding" on Jesse McCartney, and I will personally take responsibility for his punishment. I'll be back in a few days...

I'm so there with you on the Ryan Tedder front. He strikes gold sometimes, but he's really inconsistent, too (though part of me wonders if that's just because everyone's so eager to have his name attached to a project that he's able to sell off the lower quality tracks that we never hear from most songwriters because no one wants them).

Re: Kelly, I've always hated "Because Of You," so for my personal taste I'm really hoping this isn't a bunch of songs like that.
