Did Lady GaGa Edge Out Girls Aloud To Duet With The Pet Shop Boys At The Brits?

Hey, the title of this post is so long and convoluted, it could be a Pet Shop Boys song title, no?

The always-reliable U.K. paper The Sun is reporting that Lady GaGa used her vinyl thighs to drop kick Girls Aloud into the stripper bin to duet with the Pet Shop Boys at Wednesday's Brit Awards.

Even classier if it's true—she'll be singing Dusty Springfield's PSB-written/produced 1989 hit "Nothing Has Been Proved" with them.

The Boys will be performing a medley of their tunes when they receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music award.

Meanwhile, the duo announced on their website yesterday that their upcoming album Yes will be released in a special edition with a bonus disc, which will be titled etc. Extras included will be a new song called "This Used To Be The Future," which features guest vocals by Human League's Phil Oakey, plus six instrumental dub mixes of album tracks from Yes.

You had me up till the dubs, lads.

good god is all i have to say about the pet shop boys gaga duet. i think i would have been marginally more tolerant if that hag hadn't been singing Dusty's part. Tragique.

I probably will get the special edition of the PSB album, but six dubs? Good god i'm not sure i can cope with that crap!

Great news about the etc bonus disc. Hell, I'll take the Phil Oakey duet, fool. That's genius.

And what a coup that Lady G gets tapped to sing the duet instead of GA. So that must mean Neil and Chris like her too. I can hear Paul howling now!

Despite GA's profile in England, GaGa is much closer to walking the walk and talking the talk that PSB seems to respect. It makes sense to me, but apparently I've drunk the Kool-Aid, too.
