Oh, Cool...It's Yet Another Great Old Pop Song Being Recycled The New Flo Rida Jam!

Flo Rida has been at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart for five weeks with "Right Round," which as we all know, borrows liberally from Dead Or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)."

Here's his newest smash-aroo, "Sugar," which features female vocalist Wynter and, well, borrows liberally from Italian dance act Eiffel 65's "Blue (Da Ba Dee)."

Can you believe "Blue" is now 10 years old!? In fact, it was technically the last Eurodance track to cross over in the U.S. in the '90s (eventually peaking at #6). And don't even get me started on summer 2001, when MoogaBoo and I set out to collect every Eiffel 65 mix of other artists' songs out there.

Say, whatever happened to Gala, anyway? And Peach? Bet Flo Rida doesn't know.

So is Flo Rida the new Shaggy? He has to be the hip-hop artist with the least street cred, going by his samples/ productions.

Paul Statham and Pascal Gabriel from Peach went on to write a few songs on Kylie's "Fever" and Dido's debut album. Paul also started in a group from the 80s called B Movie. And he also wrote quite a bit with Peter Murphy.

Shaggy! I was big into "It Wasn't Me" (which to this day always makes me think of the brother of my best friend at the time) and "Angel" back in the day.

Yeah, spinning off something I said over at Yuri's, I think Flo Rida and T.I.'s managers were having a competition who could come up with the most ridiculous, least expected Euro-pop friendly samples. Flo Rida's refusing to let go of the lead at the moment and given that T.I.'s was a one-off, Flo's probably pretty safe.

"Blue" is ten years old? Oh boy, now that makes me feel old...

OMG VINNY VERO -- I loved your Hasbrouck Heights remixes from the 90's, they made my life.

    This must be stopped.

Changa, I like it till the part where Flo Rida starts rapping. Why can't we just have Wynter year round?

Moog, I wonder if Timbaland/Dr. Luke jazzed this up, like "Right Round"? If so Flo should feel lucky to have such golden-touched knob twiddlers guiding his generic ass to the top of the charts.

Vinny, thanks! And I just read today Pascal is recording with Andy Bell, too.

Lammert, thanks! Geez, ask you shall receive!

Poster Girl, if someone samples/builds a song around the melody of S.O.A.P.'s "This Is How We Party," I'll feel fulfilled. Here that, Snoop?

    Moog, you minx.

RobPop, don't stop movin'. Understand this groove.
