To The Point Of No Return

I saw Adventureland last week. I went into it having no idea that it was set in Pittsburgh and shot at Kennywood Park, which I probably went to about 10 times between the ages of 13 and 24.

Adventureland takes place in summer 1987. There's a great scene where the main actors (Jessie Eisenberg and Twilight's Kristen Stewart) are at a dance club and Exposé's "Point Of No Return" is playing.

Damn, I forgot what a jam that is! Reminds me of junior high bus rides.

Those broads were like the Miami Bananarama, no? Someone once told me that Exposé got royally screwed with their contract, and only made, like, $200 a concert or something.

Also, Pet Shop Boys tracked down their producer, Lewis Martineé, to swizz up "Domino Dancing." Wonder whatever happened to Lewis? Maybe the girls put a karma hex on him, and now he's flippin' burgers in St. Augustine.

Anyway, Adventureland...good flick.

I didn't even know they were filming this and I live two blocks from the park. Glad to know it's amusing. Missing you today, but I don't know if I want you to come home, or if I want to visit you... well, you saw my quiz. :) If I had the money I'd be on a plane I think. Love you always! -shel

"Point of No Return" is up there with "Lost in Music" as my favourite single EVAH!

If it's of any consolation, they are still alive (and live!). Exactly last weekend they performed live at the Gay Rodeo in Fort Lauderdale (yes, you're reading right - such thing exists).
Check out the flyer and Expose's post-botox current faces: http://www.fgra.org/stampede/sunsetstampede.asp

Do you think going the country road is their real point of no return?

In LA, I heard "Point Of No Return" AT LEAST every other day in the car on the radio, so I'm hoping they "changed a word and took a third", but we both know it's more like a "That's what love can do!" (kitten meowing, gun shot) situation.

Dude! I ran across some Expose mixes on a mp3 blog and yes, they are still the jam! LOL at the St. Augustine comment. Except he'd be showing guests around Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum or the Alligator Farm!
