Kylie Minogue Touring North America For The First Time

Granted, it's only six dates, but still...! This broad's never toured the U.S.! Tickets for Kylie Minogue's North American tour go on sale next weekend (May 15), but American Express cardholders and members of Kylie's website will receive a special email tomorrow (May 7) about pre-sale tickets.

Kylie will also appear on NBC's Today Show on Friday. Seriously, did anyone in the States ever think this would happen?

Here are the tour dates:

September 30 — Oakland, CA (Fox Theater)
October 3 — Las Vegas, NV (The Pearl @ Palms Hotel & Casino)
October 4 — Los Angeles, CA (Hollywood Bowl)
October 7 — Chicago, IL (The Congress Theater)
October 9 — Toronto, ON (Air Canada Centre)
October 11 — New York, NY (Hammerstein Ballroom)

Somebody please tell Kylie's tour booking promoter that somewhere down south in the religious right-wing conservative state of Florida, there's a town called Miami (neighboring with the Fort Lauderdale ranch). It is a land full of enough gay men to sell out any venue. Desperate men willing to break the world record of Biggest Live Unison Choir Audience to ever chant "I Should Be So Lucky" or "Better The Devil You Know" in a roaring perfect out-of-key demonstration of unconditional loyalty to the (real) Queen of Pop (from the other side of the Atlantic).

and it only took her 21 years. I was just about to ask why you haven't done a snarky post on the dreadful but good Paula Abdul kylie song, but you have. This pleases me :)

Not sure I want to do battle with all of NYC for a space in the measley 2500 seater that is Hammerstein.

Sadly, the Chicago Congress Theater seats only 4000, although I'm not sure Kylie's last album sold 4000 copies in the U.S. ;) In any event, I think that getting tickets might be a tall order, but one that I think I will try for. When is this likely to happen again? Carpe diem. Economic downturn be damned!

I had to write about this too. Hopefully she'll dust off all 7 of her American smash hits! I'm seriously considering a sneaky trip to coincide with the tour.

Very nice pic of Ms Kylie there in the water.

Wierd thing about the venues.. the Air Canada Centre in Toronto seats like 19,800 (my guess is 8000-10000 for her concert) and is a hockey arena (i.e. not a classically beautiful building). The US venues appear to be a lot smaller and look to be beautiful old theaters. Any idea how the locations (cities and venues) were chosen?

    I. Cannot. Believe. She is going to do the Fox Theatre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That place is TINY. There is not one bad seat, and the stage is smaller than my high school auditorium!

How on earth are they possibly going to fit a 5-man shower stall for her dancers on stage while Kylie prances around wearing a live male peacock on her head!??!?!?!

That being said - EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I live 15 minutes from the Fox Theatre and work 5 blocks away!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AFTER PARTY AT MY HOUUUUUSE
