Kelly Rowland Is Still Lurved In England

Fret not, former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland, for you may have been ditched by your label here in the States, but your David Guetta dance jam "When Love Takes Over" has now topped the U.K. singles chart!

This gives now gives Guetta a simultaneous #1 single in Ol' Blighty and a #2 single—with Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling"—in the States.

Elsewhere in the U.K. Top 10, Lady Gaga crashes in at #8 with "Paparazzi," making it her third straight Top 10 hit there. Over here, we got "LoveGame" as her third official single, which sits at #5 on this week's Billboard Hot 100.

And Take That clown their way to #9 with "Said It All," the band's third single off The Circus, and 18th overall Top 10 hit in their home country.

Meanwhile, just as Kelly Rowland found salvation with a dance producer after a testy relationship with her label, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has teamed up with Freemasons for the single "Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer," in at #15. (She's also worked with Calvin Harris, Cathy Dennis and Groove Armada for her upcoming fourth album).

Here's the "Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer" vid:

On a final note, Blazin' Squad go down, but not in a blaze of glory. Their comeback single "Let's Start Again" makes a dismal debut at #51. Let's stop again, lads.

The U.K. Top 10:

1. "When Love Takes Over'" - David Guetta/Kelly Rowland *1 week*
2. "Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)" - Pixie Lott
3. "Boom Boom Pow" - Black Eyed Peas
4. "Release Me" - Agnes
5. "Knock You Down" - Keri Hilson feat. Kanye West & Ne-Yo
6. "Bonkers" - Dizzee Rascal
7.
"Red" - Daniel Merriweather
8. "Paparazzi" - Lady Gaga
9. "Said It All" - Take That
10.
"Untouched" - The Veronicas

ah the epilepsy inducing sophie video :) I'm hoping it loiters around the charts for a while, as it's release was bought forward so perhaps not everyone knows it is out yet. I'm quite pleased that nerdy Yeah You's have broken into the top 40 with their take that meets the feeling tune 15 Minutes. And pleased that the sats are slowly climbing...and Lenka top 30! Brillo :)

I really hope Sophie's song hits #1. I doubt it will now though, that silly bitch really deserves it i mean she is so underrated the poor thing and I do not know why? Trip the Light Fantastic is/ was so incredible as was her other two albums. If Beyonce’s clone can get to #1 with that song then i really do not see why Sophie cannot since her song with the Freemasons is leagues better! The physical single is out today so it looks like I will be buying the CD and Vinyl as well as the Digital again.

Dunno if they love Kelly so much as the song itself. Any other generic black girl could have sang it and probably made it better. :( It's a GREAT song

Oh spare me. "When Love Takes Over" isn't just a great song, Kelly's vocals are spot on making it even better. You also forgot to mention it's currently sitting purty on the top spot of Billboard's Club Charts. Frankly, I've always thought she was a better singer than Beyonce, just not as marketable. Nevertheless, I do believe there will be life after Sony for her.

As for Sophie, guys get with the program. The song was sent out as promos back in May when I used it in one of my podcasts. It was officially released earlier this month not only for her new album, but the Freemasons follow-up "Shakedown II" I expect it will hit the top spot in the UK soon enough.

One last thing, commercial electro is the direction pop music is heading. It's been bubbling in the underground for several years now and it looks like it's time has finally come. Why does it take so fucking long for the U.S. to catch up with the rest of the world? Considering how tired hip-hop and R&B has been for some time now, I'd say this is a refreshing change.

I greatly prefer Kelly Rowland to her half-sister. Kelly's voice is much prettier, but she doesn't have enough of the right songs to showcase it.

Her best songs are "Dilemma" w/Nelly, this new song with Guetta and "Daylight", which is a really lovely pop song.

She has loads of potential if she stays away from that hideous Beyonce style of music.

Love Sophie too...not surprised she hasn't gone anywhere in the US.

Maybe Kelly can do that disco album I want Beyonce to do?
