Cougars, Ahoy: It's The Video For Bananarama's New Single 'Love Comes'!

Low budget? Yes. But ten times better than the video for "Look On The Floor (Hypnotic Tango)"? Hell yeah!

Today the vid for Bananarama's new single "Love Comes"—off upcoming album Viva (due out September 14)—made it's way online.

Check it out below. It makes the song, which seemed a tad ho-hum at first, sound that much better. God, I love these broads!

The 'rams are also featured in the new issue of Brit gay mag Attitude—the one with Daniel Radcliffe on the cover.

I agree, the video makes me enjoy the song a but more than I did previously! And they look really good for being only slightly younger than Dame Maggie Smith. (Oh wait, was that her in the Union Jack skirt?) It also reminds me of the "More Than Physical" clip. Hotness abounds.

The other question that you forgot to ask was "Better than the last 8 Madonna videos?" Again, the answer is hell yes!

It's sort of a gay dream, that video. Especially the Brit-themed dresses at the end. ooooh-oooh. WHO KNEW they'd be here 25 yrs on!?

Great song. Thanks for posting it. I'll be bumping this song for awhile. Yeah, it's sort of a gay dream. I began listening before I read your comment that they have a bit on the cover of Attitude. I thought: this is going to be a huge anthem.

I thought the same when I heard "When Loves Takes Over". I went out to the bar/club that night and the DJ was blasting it. A bunch of boys were singing along. Corny but really great.

I don't know if it's only me, but by now I'm so getting used to this "cougar-generation" of die-hard-80s-divas (file under Madonna, Kylie, Bananarama, Annie Lennox, Grace Jones et al) still so good at their game even past their prime, and that still manage to leave to paling in the comparison all those novice teeny-boppers around (file under Heidi Montag, Miley, Britney, Rihanna, Ashley-"Who?"-Simpson et al); that I even wonder if the genre won't eventually end up shifting towards and newly redefined parameter where "mature" is the new young.

Or am I just simply douche-bag-ish old trying to fool myself?

I love your theory, Cristián, and am behind it 100%. Bring on the cougar pop generation!

The video is stunning! Sara and Keren are musical legends and I'm so relieved that they're coming back with a great track after the half hearted mess that was "Drama". As I've said elsewhere, this is their best track since "Every Shade Of Blue"!

Kenneth, totally! I'm just always in awe at how great these broads still look!

Moog, thanks for tipping me off that the video was out and about!

Dan, oh, you're finally coming away from the dark side! Yay!

XO, total gay dream, esp. with the rainbow at the end. Ooh, hooo!

Robert K, songs always sound so much more urgent/better when you hear them out than on your own speakers, no?

Cristián, absolutely, and with the end of this decade, I think the days of the overnight-fame talentless whore pack is numbered, if not over. Does anyone even care about Ashlee, Paris, Lindsay anymore? Bring on the cougars with great pipes!

Mike, I loved Ultra Violet, but thought Drama was really great, too!

it sort of gives me balance in the world that Bananarama are still going :) Heck, i even bought that French album in the early years of the millenium! I do like this song, love the vid and can't wait for the remixes :)

I love the video but it would've been nice to focus on a single section for more than 2 seconds - i feels slightly on the verge of a fit when i watch it.

But i'm excited. between the remixes, the b-sides (3 overall) and a return to pic discs and mutli formats, its a banana-fans dream come true. I think this will definitely go top 10 in the UK.

Is great to see them back, love the 'rams - not the strongest song, I preferred Look to the floor but I still like it. I agree the video is a definite improvement though, the two from the last album were so tacky, this is quite stylish and well done. I hope it goes top 10, but not sure..

I wasn't sold on this until the part of the video where Margaret Thatcher crawls across the glass table wearing only 12 strands of pearls.

Love this. Cougar truly hits it on the head--it's fun, sexy, and a bit more mature than the last effort. I'm into it!

The song is great and will probably age a bit better than "Move In My Direction" has, don't you think?

I have always been into older women -especially cougars that can sing (Madonna, Sade, Kylie etc..the list is endless) but this song just doesn't cut it. The Bananarama babes definitely look quite fit for their age.
