Bag Raiders 'Shooting Stars' = My New Obsession

Ever since reviewing Australian duo Bag Raiders' "Shooting Stars" on last week's Pop Trash Addicts Pop Panel, I've been more-than-mildy obsessed with the track.

The Sydney-based twosome—made up of Chris Stracey and Jack Glass—came out with the highest score after the grueling ratings test that is the Pop Panel, and deservedly so! "Shooting Stars" is up there with the best jams by fellow Aussies Cut Copy, another electro outfit I got hooked in recent years. Plus, if their highly-erotic/completely charming Tron-like animated video (directed by Ron Winter) doesn't make you smile—both upstairs and down—then you've got no pulse!

For me, "Shooting Stars" is all about the slow buildup to the dyanamic chorus. Check out the video below!

Bonza choon, was in my top 5 of songs from last year - it's been circulating the clubs for a good year so I was actually surprised to see it only just got a release here the other week!

You're bang on about the buildup to the chorus too. So, so special.

This is potentially the best-constructed pop song of the year, and easily one of the best songs to come along in the past few years. Can't wait to hear a full-length from these guys.

Another class track suggested by the mighty Mike -- it's almost as good as Samantha Jade! And ps, the tall Bag Raider is hawt.

LOL thanks Moogaboo. Unfortunately the line up for this week's Pop Panel is pretty dire with a couple of exceptions.

Cheers for also mentioning the elephant in the room. When is Samantha Jade going to grace Chart Rigger with her grace, elegance and endless talent?
