Backstreet Was Back, Till Brian Littrell Came Down With Swine Flu

Just when it looked like we could all party like it's 1999—Backstreet Boys' new album This Is Us was released today, along with Britney Spears' Max Martin-produced new jam, "3"—BSB member Brian Littrell has come down with swine flu.

All promo appearances by the Boys have been cancelled as of now. Here's a YouTube video Brian made, wherein he apologizes to fans:

Ick! Poor guy. Brian always gets the bum end of illnesses, no? Backstreet Boys were due to perform on the CBS Early Show this morning.

According to a press release issued yesterday, the other members of the band have seen a doctor and are not showing any symptoms. They'd all just returned to the states from Tokyo.

Blimey. Poor BSB. They are not doing too well over here, but i don't think they have done any real promotion other than Nick looking riddled on some channel 4 talk show...

The Boys performed on The Tonight Show last night. I haven't been much of a fan since Millennium, but I watched the entire performance and thought they all looked and sounded fine. No sign of illness as far as I could tell.

BTW...performance clips all seem to be pulled from YouTube, but the full Tonight Show ep is viewable here:
Plus there is a Q&A w/AJ and Howie
