Lady GaGa And Madonna Scissor On 'SNL'

Lady GaGa proved last night her acting talent is nearly as monumental as Madonna's when the two squared off on SNL skit "Deep House Dish."

The comic timing was uncanny. I don't think I've seen a stage performance on this level since 6th grade, when my class butchered charmed the student body with a heartwarming rendition of "Hands Across America" in our year-end variety assembly.

Brava, ladies. Brava!

Meanwhile, on the U.K. album chart this week, Madonna's Celebration hits collection is bumped down from #1 to #2 by the latest from Paramore. The title track is down to #14 on the singles chart.

Elsewhere, Aussie band Temper Trap see their jam "Sweet Disposition" land at #7 on the U.K. singles chart. The song appears in 500 Days Of Summer, which is probably my favorite flick of recent months. (See it!)

And finally, after "Bulletproof" hit #1, La Roux have to be a tad disappointed that the somewhat maligned follow-up, "I'm Not Your Toy," only manages to amble up to #27 after its official release.

Maybe everyone's already bought the album at this point?

The U.K. Top 10:

1. "Break Your Heart" - Taio Cruz *3 weeks*
2. Empire State Of Mind" - Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys
3. "Sexy Bitch" - David Guetta feat. Akon
4. "She Wolf" - Shakira
5. "I Gotta Feeling" - The Black Eyed Peas
6. "Run This Town" - Jay-Z feat. Rihanna & Kanye West
7. "Sweet Disposition" - Temper Trap
8. "Boys & Girls" - Pixie Lot
9. "Hotel Room Service" - Pitbull
10. "Dirtee Cash" - Dizzee Rascal

and rather annoyingly the one Lady Gaga song i liked (Love Game) seems to have peaked at whatever it was last week (18? 19?). I only liked it because it's basically a musical update of the epic Shock Your Mama by Deborah Gibson!!

Perhaps everyone's realised what utter shit La Roux is now? Just a thought! :D

I agree with Mr Brady- "bulletproof" is the only bright spot on an otherwise uninspired electro/80s snooze fest. I hate that people invoke Yazoo/Yaz when describing La Roux's sound because the reality is Yazoo produced 2 amazing albums with lots of variety. La Roux on the other hand have eeked out 1 decent single (i'm sorry but "in for the kill" was about as exciting as a Madonna hand job)and nothing else

I wonder what's bigger - lady gaga's dick or madonna's steroid enlarged clit?

I'm so happy for Temper Trap. It's a great song and I remember everyone hating on it (Ahem, D'Luv) when I featured it on the Pop Panel!

I'm not the world's biggest La Roux fan by any means but "I'm Not Your Toy" is one of their few songs that I really like...

Neither Madge nor Gaga was really done any favors by the writing in that skit, but I'm still shocked by how tone-deaf Madonna still seems as to her image these days. At least Gaga came across as funny and warm--one would think an image chameleon like Madge might try to transform in that direction for once instead of being her (probably true) brittle, unlikable self.

Madonna really should leave the acting to those who can pull it off, at this point. However, that interview she did with Ryan Seacrest actually made her sound like a warm, funny and (shockingly) normal person. more of that Madge, please.

I'm still waiting for La Roux to release "As If By Magic." The Yazziest, and best, of the songs on the album by far.
