Sugababes Don't Really Sound Like Sugababes Anymore In 'Wear My Kiss'

Today the music video for the third single off Sugababes' Sweet 7—the forthcoming drama-plagued album from the broads—was previewed on U.K. television.

Here are two minutes of the Fernando Garibay-produced "Wear My Kiss":

Good lordy, this latest lineup of the pop stripper pack really doesn't resemble the original Sugababes sound, vocally, anymore...does it? I mean, it's not like the revolving door hasn't snagged and thrown out members of the trio on their arses before, but it just feels like we're hearing a totally different group now.

As for the video—well, the way they replicate the "They Don't Care About Us" video projection from Michael Jackson flick This Is It is nice. Do we really need to see the final minute after this? Probably not.

By the by, is Amelle now leaving the band? Caught this on Twitter:

Well, Jade looks like she's still got the costume on from the job she had over the Christmas break: Santa's elf in Harrods department store. And maybe the way the tights ride up like that is a fashion statement, in elf world.

Heidi looks like the cat who go the cream (but hasn't a clue that the song is crapola) and Amelle's on her 'calming' pills. bless.

Wear My Kiss. Where? On my arse obviously.

A Sweet 7 sampler leaked on to the Internet with Keisha's vocals - it includes Wear My Kiss. I'll be listening to that version.

To me Jade and Amelle are to similar with the smooth vocals. They need the added slight edge that Keisha brought.

Keisha's nasal vocals are sorely missed.

Would somebody put these hookers out of their misery already?

Crap song, bad video and jade looks gross. Who is gonna get dropped first- the saturdays or sugabab4s?

Yes, I too miss Keisha's excessively breathy vocals. Oh and how she was always sharp live.

I don't like this song or vid.

Live, Jade shows up the other two as pretty poor live. And I don't see how you can mix up the deeper-voiced Amelle with Jade.

Here's hoping Siobhan Donaghy hooks up with some good collaborators and comes out with new material a.s.a.p.
