Owl City's "Vanilla Twilight" Video Was Shot In My Hometown Of Pittsburgh

Boy, that "Fireflies" money must be kicking in, because main Owl City dude Adam Young went from being lean, cute and scruffy to looking like he's been eating a six-course meal each day. (He might have ingested k.d. lang, too—or at least her stylist.)

At any rate, "Vanilla Twilight" has been hovering around forever as a minor hit, and now the video—which, it turns out, was shot in the North Side of my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—has arrived.

Here 'tis:

It's a pretty clip that, if anything, reminds me of what a decent album Ocean Eyes is, despite the hateration it ultimately met with.

Yikes! He looks like the love child of k.d. lang (No capital letters, please) and Clay Aiken.

Oh dear...he was just on the cusp of cute before...that right there is what we call a major step backward.

Who was haterating Ocean Eyes? I can never keep up with the kids and their fickle tastes...is it officially uncool? Is "Fireflies" still cool? What can I like? Uncertainty...scared....

Just noticed Shaq O'Neal in the video. How did that happen? I still like "Fireflies" (I didn't know I was actually capable of actually liking anything in the Billboard top 10) but I liked the song BEFORE it cracked the Billboard top 10. "Vanilla Twilight" feels like a "filler" track. Nice - but not exciting.
