Scissor Sisters' "Fire With Fire" Video Is Boring

Here's the music video for Scissor Sisters' new single "Fire With Fire." Like the song itself, it's doing nothing for me. Am I completely missing something with this tune, or is it just not that great?

Praying there are better tunes on Night Work.

I love this track. Weirdly, it reminds me of this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRmKzxhMzwo

And how can you NOT love that tune?

I think I would like it if Elton John were dead.

i think you must be missing something? It's rather glorious in a human-meets-elton-john way :) The video isn't that thrilling so just turn it off. Perhaps you should pretend Invisible Light is the first single?

Of course you are missing something. You are about as removed from the creative process as Jake Shears is removed the world of cynical, worthless 'journalism' that owes more to the facetious tones of VH1 than anything else.

I'm willing to bet that the only instrument you play is your damned computer keyboard...making you, really, one of the least credible people on the subject of 'music'.

This song is, in fact, worth more than your entire blog.

Yeah, Robbie...guess you've been schooled...your blog and opinions suck so much that I'll probably come here every day for the rest of my life! Take that!

Au contraire, Jacob, I'll have you know I'm pretty wicked at air-drumming.

@Jacob So music is only for musicians, huh? The people who buy it don't matter either I suppose.

    Good luck with that.

was that a Sandra Bernhard cameo at 0:52? cool. well, the song is growing on me with each listen. it's not one that will gain them fans beyond their current base, though. Invisible Light could possibly be a mainstream breakthrough for them.

Video sucks- song has a weird charm to it. Don't know why you can't hear it.

Huh... "Jake Shears is removed the world of cynical". Dude. Reread what you've written after writing it. It kind of undermines your point about cynical journalists if you can't write as well as them. Because 'is removed the world of cynical' makes NO sense. Obviously it's just a missing word or two, but it instantly makes you sound stupid. Because you are.

"I'm willing to bet that the only instrument you play is your damned computer keyboard..." Oh my! 'Damned'! Why Jacob, you mother-fucking bad-ass. Damn that computer keyboard, damn it all to hell! And sweetheart, while I’m here, music is a form of art; it’s for appreciating. If music was, or should be, music only other musicians can love and understand (which you seem to imply), then damn it if that isn’t just artistic masturbation. Does every critic have to be proficient in the art they criticize in order to be legitimate? Do we have to be professionals before we have opinions? No. That would be counter-productive.

"...making you, really, one of the least credible people on the subject of 'music'." I bet you felt proud when you dropped this shocking truth-bomb. ‘Making you, really,’ suggests that this conclusion is based on hard evidence you already provided. However, you even said yourself that whether or not the blogger in question only knows how to play a computer keyboard is your own assumption- and, as stated above, even if this were the case, it bears very little relevance to your bitter conclusion.
People are entitled to their own opinion, whether they're experts or not. This blog just gives music news and occasional commentary. Why you feel the need to take it so personally, I have no idea, but I'm assuming you have some kind of issues. Yes, 'omg, someone on the internet disagrees with you!' but it's not the 'damned' end of the world. You could just not read cynical, worthless 'journalism' that owes more to the facetious tones of VH1 than anything else. I mean, if you feel so 'damned' strongly about it.

(Also putting 'music' in quotation marks undermined everything that you said, because it made it seem like you wouldn't call it music, and were just being sarcastic. My immediate thought was 'huh? But I thought he was defending the song this post was about... why does he feel then that it's 'music' and not music?' That, and I’m pretty sure that on the subject of ‘music’ D’Luv is quite credible indeed.)

    Jacob you're an idiot.

It won't have effect in actual fact, that's what I suppose.
