Kylie Minogue's 'Aphrodite' Headed For UK #1, US Top 20

It looks like all the chart rigging is paying off! While America is currently putting its stilettos in the popcorn ceiling for Eminem's Recovery, Kylie Minogue also looks set to carve out her own little corner in the upper reaches of the Billboard Top 200 next week.

Today the publication cautiously projected the following: "Both Enrique Iglesias' Euphoria and Bret Michaels' Custom Built are also possibly headed for top 20 debuts, as is Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite."

Hot! If that happens, it'll be her second highest-charting U.S. album, after Fever. Just as a refresher, here's how her other LPs that charted here played out:

* Kylie #53 (1988)
* Fever #3 (2002)
* Body Language #42 (2004)
* X #139 (2008)

Meanwhile, NME also reported today that Aphrodite is selling twice as many copies as Eminem's Recovery in the UK, and is set to become her fifth chart-topping album there on Sunday.

Get it, Kylie! You deserve it.

    Must be based on ITunes sales, cause it sure as hell isnt physical sales.

    Like the "Boombox" release, Astralwerks apparently cant distribute their Cd's properly. Targets dont have Aphrodite in stock (well most dont, at least), Best Buy stores received VERY limited amount of copies of Aphrodite (and only 2 copies of the Deluxe Version), and its simply not to be found at most Wal-Marts either.

    It's an unfortunate disaster.

    While I don ot think Aphrodite is better than just good, I am amazed and pleased it is doing so well. I wonder if you guys might get a remixed single a la First Sight - they would be foolish not to try and build on a top 20 debut beyond a few morning chat show appearances with hot mess, alcoholic cougars.

    Maybe she should do a reality show for E!

    so pleased it is doing well in the states, likely on online purchases alone. Thrilled it's such a massive smash here. There was also the slightly niggling fear (though i highly doubted it) it would go Bionic. But no - it's all sorts of magnificence and the public can't get enough. Hurrah, etc. I totally think you have contributed to this btw.

    @ Markus ... most physical retailers in the U.S. usually don't stock much of an album unless they think they can sell it. And after how poor her last album sold in the U.S., it is no wonder that some physical stores don't have that many copies of "Aphrodite."

    I'm very pleased to hear this! I was able to find quite a few copies of the album at my local FYE, which was most likely the only place to find it here. I thought I saw that Walmarts were carrying the single disc release, but maybe not. I haven't been in my local one to check.

    I can't wait to see where Kylie lands and if she does get in the Top 20, that's fantastic considering all she did here was one Today Show appearance over a month ago to premiere the video.
