Cheryl Cole's Sloppy Performance Of "Promise This" On 'The X Factor'

It never ceases to amaze me how these reality TV "talent" shows put kids through a grueling competition while Simon Cowell chastises them week after week, yet have talentless "singers" like Cheryl Cole hit the stage and lip sync.

The Rapidly Aging Divorcee put on some low-end call girl outfit and mimed through her latest single "Promise This." Check out the part at the 1:00 mark where she says "be the last to kiss my lips," but already has the mic pulled away and her hand over her mouth by the time the word "lips" is uttered.

A true talent!

Remind me again what qualifies Cheryl Cole to be a judge of anything?

Oh god. That reminds me of when they had POSH SPICE performing """"live"""" (yes, four quotes worth) during that ill-conceived WORLD IDOL they aired on Christmas a few years ago. I think she did "Let Your Head Go" on a chessboard with a bunch of hot guys - who were the ONLY saving grace.

I imagine giving head to anyone who can keep career afloat as it careens head first up Madonna's stankin' crotch.

There is one live part of the song. At around 2:10 she shouts "hey" and also sings a few lines up to just past 2:30 ending with "oooohoooh". It doesn't sound overly great though because she's a little out of breath from dancing. I guess to her credit she at least has one live section in it. I do have to admit I kind of love the song though, even if most of it was lip synched.

Whether or not she is a "real" singer, I like her album. Parachute and Stand Up are two of my favorite songs of the year.

its a bit of a joke really, she is a nice girl and all that but that song is bloody awful, it makes a mockery of the charts that making it to no.1. stick to being a judge Chezza your way better at it

@Paul - She does sing a few lines in between the "WOOS". In any case, it's a great pop song and her new album is really quite good. Also, she can sing. I'd love to hear her singing just her without dancing so she's not out of breath. I imagine it wouldn't be half bad.

actually its just the chorus is playing in the back, so i guess you could say she sang over the track but she didn't lip sync. You can clearly hear her voice.
