While I am all for Robyn and seeing her succeed in America, I abhor this trend by amazon to sell full album downloads for under $4. Seriously, this sucks for the artists because it devalues their work, and it sucks for other competing retailers (such as mine) who actually pay over $10 to carry this CD which we then sell for $12, a slim profit margin at best.

Maybe I am stupid for buying the actual disc (as I did with parts 1 and 2), but is it really necessary for amazon to sell so many albums for these prices (there were other big name albums available for the same bargain basement price today). Indie artists such as Sufjan Stevens have actually encouraged consumers to NOT buy his albums from amazon at that price, as it devalues his time and effort, as well as his compositional and artistic achievements. It also makes other regularly priced albums seem overpriced (full albums for $8 are HARDLY overpriced though), eventually devaluing them as well.

This is all part of a recessionary downward spiral mindset that needs to stop NOW. We've all gotta eat to live, and I'm sure anyone who has ever been unemployed doesn't really enjoy wondering when their next meal is gonna come.

Thanks for the soapbox. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Countpopula, you make a good point. I actually bought the physical disc at Best Buy yesterday, for $11.99. Spend it wisely, Robyn!

Paul, yes, saw that -- both Take That and Susan Boyle are going to be £1 on Friday on Amazon UK.
