Joe McElderry Vs. Carrie Underwood: Who Did The More Boring Version Of "There's A Place For Us"?

Now here's some bullshit. Joe McElderry's next single off flop album Wide Awake is the ballad "Someone Wake Me Up," the video for which premiered today. (Note: apparently, as I have "cloth ears", I didn't realize "Someone Wake Me Up" is an energetic mid-tempo floorfiller, not a ballad.)

The clip features scenes from the upcoming Narnia: Curse of The Threaded Whorebag movie, or whatever the hell it's called.  That said, the song won't be found in the film. Rather, the b-side (single is out in the UK on December 5), "There's A Place For Us," does.

But don't expect to hear Joe's version in the flick in the States. Carrie Underwood also recorded her own snoozy rendition, which will play during the end credits here.

Listen to her trash, plus a live version of Joe singing the track:

I'd ask who sings the song better, but both have finally cured my insomnia. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

I wouldn't call Someone Wake Me Up a ballad - or at least not in the x factor winner sense. Anyone from that show who comes out with any thing faster than That's My Goal/The Climb is practically a dance floor diva.

And EMD (Sweden) have the most boring version :P I can't wait for the movie (no sarcasm. it's so me).

    A - It's not a ballad
B - The album Wide Awake charted at number 3, hardly a flop!

You have a funny idea as to what constitutes as Ballard !! Yep agree with the previous comment 3 is not a flop for a 1st album esp who it was up against the week it was released! Joe's version of a TAPFU is sung with passion. What an honour for Joe to be personally asked by Fox to sing the track!Your doing a GOOD job Joe !!

Haven't heard Carrie's version but if it's as good as Joes the US are in for a treat. If no 3 for a first album is a flop then there are so many big stars that are also flopping because they didn't get that high with their recent albums. Joe is here to stay and being asked to sing this song is proof that he is well respected by the music business!

Kee, why not just jam the Narnia lion's snout up your low-rent minge and let it gnaw it's way out like it's a cheap can of Chicken Of The Sea?
