Absolute Ear Candy: Pete Hammond Mix Of Kylie Minogue's "Put Your Hands Up"

No sooner did I go and mention the 2009 Pete Hammond mix of City Girls' "Make Up Your Mind" here the other day, did Kylie Minogue go and throw a lyrics video on YouTube for "Put Your Hands Up" which features...a Pete Hammond mix!

This is no doubt the closest we'll ever get to hearing Kylie produced by her original '80s/early '90s musical handlers Stock Aitken Waterman. So live it up!

As I noted on Idolator this afternoon, from the squiggly synths and the chugging NRG bass to the disco violins and retro font used for the lyrics, everything about this video has me reaching to dig out my Bananarama (and, of course, old-school Kylie) CDs!

    It's fucking glorious!

The most PWL sounding song I've heard - for the reasons you mention above - since Coron's under-heard I Belong To You (80s).

    Go Kylie!

It reminds me a bit of Bananarama's "I Can't Help It (The Pete Hammond Version Excursion)." I really liked the Pete Hammond remix of Mini Viva's "I Left My Heart in Tokyo," but the remix of the Wynonna Judd song messed with my head.

Hmm, what if SAW had produced an album for the Judds in the laste '80s ...

Sounds almost like a recovered track from the sessions for "Rhythm of Love"

Can't get enough of Pete Hammond. This mix is getting a lot of airplay on Mark Grant's radio show on The Scene Europe. PWL fans would like it. 6-8pm every night http://www.thesceneeurope.com/
