It's Rihanna's "Cheers" Video

So Rihanna's gone and released her "Hey, it's my seventh single off the album, so you know what that means — live concert footage video!" video "Cheers." Yay?

Thankfully there's also some quick original footage in there too, taken while Ri was driving around and strutting in a swimsuit through Barbados recently. Plus, hey — cameos by Avril Lavigne, J. Cole, Cee Lo Green and Jay-Z? Anyone?

Maybe if they included clips from the supposed J. Cole/Rihanna sex tape, things would brighten up?

Still, great jam.

I just want to make sure -- this song samples Aviril from "I'm With You," right? That would explain the cameo, I suppose. I find that to be an odd sample...I still enjoy "I'm With You," but...weird.

@Shaun Yes, and, ironically, I find it to be the best part of the song. "Cheers" is a solid song, but what separates it from what Rihanna's done in the past? This is the point in her career where she should be having #1 hits left and right, and this song isn't going to cut it.

I think the predicament she's found herself in is that she's had too many #1 hits at this point. So when she tries to pull something like "Man Down" or "California King Bed" — i.e. not an obvious dance-floor party track — the public is going to put a spear up her puxxxy. "Cheers" is more a return to what people want from her, at least, as evidenced by its current position on iTunes.

Whether that's right or wrong, I don't know. I just think the singles have steadily declined in quality since "What's My Name"(which I love).
