UK Chart Roundup: Steps' 'Ultimate Collection' Hangs Near Top

After debuting at #1 on the UK album chart with The Ultimate Collection, Steps' new greatest hits set drops only two positions to #3 this week, below new entries from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (#1) and last year's X Factor winner Matt Cardle (#2).

It's quite an achievement, and we can expect the promo from the five-piece band to increase now that the final episode of Steps Reunion aired this past week. They'll be performing on ITV program Loose Women tomorrow, and then switching on the Christmas lights and singing at The Trafford Centre in Manchester on Thursday.

Here's a Radio 2 interview with Claire Richards and Lee Latchford Evans from the group that aired on Friday.:

Over on the UK singles chart, it's a third week at the top for Rihanna and Calvin Harris' smash "We Found Love", which means boy band The Wanted have to settle for a #2 entry with "Lightning", their third single from upcoming album Battleground.

Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson's "Mr. Know It All" (#6) becomes the singer's seventh Top 10 UK single, and Matt Cardle's "Run For Your Life" suffers a disastrous 17-position drop to #23 in its second week on the chart.

The UK Top 10 Singles:

1. "We Found Love" - Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris *3 weeks*
2. "Lightning" - The Wanted *new*
3. "Wherever You Will Go" - Charlene Soraia
4. "Moves Like Jagger" - Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera
5. "Stereo Hearts" - Gym Class Heroes feat. Adam Levine
6. "Mr. Know It All" - Kelly Clarkson *new*
7. "Jar Of Hearts" - Christina Perri
8. "Sexy And I Know It" - LMFAO
9. "Video Games" - Lana Del Rey *new*
10. "Without You" - David Guetta feat. Usher

    From The Mirror today:

"The fivesome are in talks for a Christmas special TV show for the channel as well as a new reality series for when they kick start the tour next April. Bang tidy!"

Why haven't they released "Dancing Queen" as a proper single? I mean, it's shit and all, but that's never stopped them before.

Kelly Rowland's vid for "Down For Whatever" has been out for several days now. Thought there would be a ChartRigger post about it by now. It's pretty hot!

Scooter, Kelendria will always be in my heart, but she's officially slayed Beyonce's tired wig and diced it to ribbons. So I feel like my job in that area is done.

    Todd, OMG! *explodes*

This will not succeed in fact, that's what I suppose.
