American Music Awards 2011: The Winners' List + Performances
The 2011 American Music Awards wasn't the worst thing I've ever sat through. But then again, I downed two glasses of booze beforehand, so you could have flipped on the Soap Opera Network and I probably would have been happy.
David Guetta & Nicki Minaj — "Turn Me On" / "Super Bass"
There really weren't any surprises with the winners, save for Adele actually scoring two trophies (Pop/Rock Album, Pop/Rock Female Artist and Adult Contemporary Artist) after being snubbed in the big categories at the MTV VMAs this past summer.
Katy Perry — "The One That Got Away"
I feel like the best performance was Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera. I don't even know why — I'm so sick of "Moves Like Jagger," and I wanna shove a butcher knife through the car stereo every time it comes on the radio. They did sound pretty tight, even thought Xtina looks like a low-rent Pittsburgh stripper. (Oh. I guess I could have left the "low rent" was redundant in that sentence.)
Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera — "Moves Like Jagger"
Things ended with LMFAO doing "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy And I Know It," with classy broads like Justin Bieber and David Hasselhoff hopping on stage and dancing.

Gee, why didn't they get any awards?

Nice for the established artists. What about the folks coming up through the ranks? Have you heard the song by Charlie Allen? It’s called “Grandpa’s Recipe.” Check it out at http://www.charlieallenmusic.com/index.htm

You DIDN'T even mention J-Lo? My laptop is going to be sticky for weeks, it was flat out (unlike her ass) the best pop spectacle since Geri crawled out of a giant vagina at the 2000 Brit awards.

Also, I just noticed that Hot Chelle Rae won some stupid made-up award...whenever that song starts, I hear one thing -- "This is the story of a girl..." See you boys in 10 years!
