Adele, Rihanna & Robyn Receive Grammy Nominations

Nominees for the 54th Grammy Awards were announced last night. Kanye West has the most, with seven, while Adele and Bruno Mars have six each.

Three cheers for Robyn, for getting a Best Dance Recording nod for "Call Your Girlfriend" — though I feel like she'll get passed over and the award will go to someone trendier like Deadmau5 or Skrillex (who surprisingly got a Best New Artist nomination).

Meanwhile, I love Rihanna, but Album Of The Year? Was the National Academy snorting glowstick when they came up with these?

I'm glad Pink got recognized (Best Pop Solo Performance) for "Fuckin' Perfect," because if Katy Perry is going to get a pat on the boobs for her self-empowering hit "Firework," Pink ought to, as well.

Also nice to see Adele's "Someone Like You" (Best Pop Solo Performance) here, since "Rolling In The Deep" is up for the main awards.

Anyway, a few of the nominees:

Album Of The Year:
Adele, 21
Foo Fighters, Wasting Light
Lady Gaga, Born This Way
Bruno Mars, Doo-Wops & Hooligans
Rihanna, Loud

Bruno Mars, "Grenade"
Mumford & Sons, "The Cave"

The Band Perry
Bon Iver
J. Cole
Nicki Minaj

Best Pop Solo Performance:
Adele, "Someone Like You"
Lady Gaga, "Yoü And I"
Bruno Mars, "Grenade"
Katy Perry, "Firework"

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance:
Tony Bennett & Amy Winehouse, "Body And Soul"

I swear every time the Grammys are upon us, I can feel my eyes rolling so hard (in the deep). So predictable!

Adele will win every category she is nominated in (she's "cool!"), and the old dude/dead girl will win Pop Collabo.

Why is Bruno Mars nominated for Best Song/Recording!?!?

Anyways, I won't be tuning into this hot mess, I'll just wait for the performance highlights on youtube via chartrigger!

Oh my god, how did you not mention the fact that Cher was nominated for Best Song From a Movie with YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME!?? YES!

Does anyone really give a shit about the Grammys anymore. They pick a handful of artists and distribute nominations across the artists in that list. It's painfully obvious. And for those that care, this year's Grammys will be ALL about Adele.
