Madonna's Second 'MDNA' SIngle "Girl Gone Wild": Single Art & Lyric Video
I'm pretty much of two minds about Madonna's second MDNA single "Girl Gone Wild": 1.) lyrically, it's extremely cliche ("You got me in the zone, DJ play my favorite song!") and 2.) musically, it's the best thing we've heard from her since the Confessions On A Dancefloor era.
Here's the lyric video for the Benny- and Alle Benassi-co-produced club jam, which premiered today:
I'm going to sit on this trash and give it a think, and I'll sort out more thoughts later.

I'm in two minds also. It's fun and catchy, especially after a few listens - but come in, is this the best Madonna can come up with? With all the resources at her disposal, it's pretty disappointing.
A lot of people argue that Madonna should start acting her age. Well, I think it's cool that she can still shake it in her 50s, but with a that life and career experience, isn't there something more interesting she can do lyrically?
This will enter the Hot 100 at 25, then disappear. Album will go no 1, spend 3 weeks in the top 10, and be a distant memory by the 4th of July.

I have no issues with her "behaving" her age. I think she is supremely hot and I'd totally go out with her if I could. That being said, she does not have to sound tragically generic to remain relevant and sadly, that is the direction she has taken on the last two singles. I hope she can release an Orbit-produced ballad and stop the downward spiral before she passes the point of no return.

Sounds like a B-side. What happened to "Masterpiece" as a single? Looked like it was coming out back before the Golden Globes (EW reviewed it as a single) and then disappeared. Seems like a missed opportunity.
