US Chart Roundup: Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" Is Proving To Be A Grower

After jumping from #84 to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" has become his first Top 10 single from an actual Justin Timberlake album (the upcoming The 20/20 Experience, out March 19) since "Summer Love" reached #6 in 2007. His next two FutureSex/LoveSounds singles, "LoveStoned" and "Until The End Of Time," each peaked at #17.

After that, Timberlake also featured on 50 Cent's "Ayo Technology" (#5 in fall 2007), Madonna's "4 Minutes" (#4 in spring 2008), T.I.'s "Dead And Gone" (#2 in early 2009) and Ciara's "Love Sex Magic" (#10, also in early 2009). Awww — poor CiCi.

JT's most recent significant hit before "Suit & Tie" was Timbaland's "Carry Out" off Shock Value II, which made it to #11 early on in 2010.

I have to admit, "Suit & Tie" did nothing for me when it premiered two weeks ago, and it's nowhere near as brilliant as anything on his previous album. But it's since gotten under my skin a bit. Above is the lyric video, which, as a visual presentation, is far better than the song itself.

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Thrift Shop" - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Wanz *1 week*
2. "Locked Out Of Heaven" - Bruno Mars
3. "Ho Hey" - The Lumineers
4. "Suit & Tie" - Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z
5. "I Knew You Were Trouble" - Taylor Swift
6. "Scream & Shout" - will.i.am & Britney Spears
7. "Don't You Worry Child" - Swedish House Mafia feat. John Martin
8. "Diamonds" - Rihanna
9. "Beauty And A Beat" -Justin Bieber feat. Nicki Minaj
10. "Home" - Phillip Phillips

Is this a joke? Shit is the operative word here. Well, hopefully I will not have to see him in any movies for a while.
