US Chart Roundup: Here Comes The Neighbourhood

I'm glad that Lorde's "Royals" (#3 — crazy!) and Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness" (#6) are continuing to climb, and Capital Cities are back in the Top 10 with "Safe And Sound" (up to #9). I'm also a bit over the fact that Lady Gaga's "Applause" has dipped to #7, a new low for the song, in its fourth week.

Oh, well — that brings me to The Neighbourhood's "Sweater Weather," which I've tucked into a few playlists since the early summer. On one hand, the vaguely-freshman-irritating lyrics on the Los Angeles band's album I Love You can sometimes be grating. Still, the music is haunting and unique enough to override that. There's something there, and I really feel like fall is the season when these guys are going to take off.

Case in point: the rather rad "Sweater Weather" is up to a new high of #64 this week.

The U.S. Top 10:

1. "Roar" - Katy Perry *2 weeks*
2. "Blurred Lines" - Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell
3. "Royals" - Lorde
4. "Holy Grail" - Jay-Z feat. Justin Timberlake
5. "Wake Me Up!" - Avicii
6. "Summertime Sadness" - Lana Del Rey & Cedric Gervais
7. "Applause" - Lady Gaga
8. "Hold On, We're Going Home" - Drake feat. Majid Jordan
9. "Safe And Sound" - Capital Cities
10. "Berzerk" - Eminem
